How to Build Your Own Shaving Kits

Men are now becoming accustomed to building their own shaving kits. However, not all of them are quite effective enough at doing it, and having a blade and can of form is no longer enough. It takes a lot more these days to get that perfect shave. A man now needs pre shave and post shaves products to ensure the kit is well equipped.

Before the shave, the important thing to have is hot water and an exfoliate scrub. Using these on the face enable the pores to open up for a closer and smoother shave. Alternatively, you could take a hot shower if you have the time.

You must use preshave oil too. This ensures that the skin pores remain open, the beard gets very soft and the shave becomes very close. If possible, use natural oils before you shave. These include oils like olive, coconut or sunflower oil. Natural oils are not as greasy as mineral oils. Also, they are gentle on the skin and do not clog it.

If you prefer using an electric shaver, then you must have blade oil in your kit. To protect your face, make sure that before you shave you apply just a little bit of oil on the blades and turn the tool on for a while. This ensures that the hair is cut cleanly instead of having it ripped out by the dry blades.

Special skin oils have been formulated specifically for electric blades. They have extra characters like their ability to help the hair stand. That way, the follicles are kept in a manner that aids the shaver to cut as close as possible.

Ensure you have shaving powders in your shaving kits too. There are two main types of powders to have in your kit. One is depilatory and the other is for electric shavers. The former is used mostly by men of African descent to prevent razor bumps. The other is used to fluff the hair and prepare it for a proper shave.
