The spanish are upset today after Ana Botella’s speech in (supposed) English to the Olympic committee.
Tokyo was awarded the 2020 Olympic Games last night and the Spanish are angry about it. Not that Tokyo won it seems – more that their Mayor is what they regard as a laughing stock because of her English. The lady does seem to consider herself a bit of a dish by her manner, her clothes and her apparent ‘passion for. life’
The Spanish population like many other large groups of disenchanted voters are so tired of their politicians acting like idiots as their representatives, lying, taking bribes, corrupting other officials, the list goes on and on. Now for the Madrileños Ana Botella’s pronunciation of English is being considered a likely cause of their Olympic loss.
What is worse is that most Spanish do not speak English and have not much interest in learning. So why didn’t Ana Botella speak in Spanish and have a translator for the English version so at least her own people could hear her pitch in their language?
Those Spaniards who do speak or at least understand English must have been holding their heads in shame. Terrible English pronunciation is one thing but when she is obviously reading the text it makes it so much worse…if she could have practiced a bit more to not distort her mouth to get round those difficult English words, or does she have a new set of false teeth…? There is nothing quite relaxing like a cup of coffee con leche in la Plaza Mayor…. she says – nothing more relaxing than taking stimulants…? Who wrote this crap – complete utter crap? was she I wonder sabotaging the Olympics for Madrid for some reason…Madrid is fun – it is not even good English, but what Olympic coach is going to let his athletes out at midnight when half of Madrid youth and party people are having fun especially when most of them are high on cocaine anyway?

Spanish politicians are famous for empowering their pockets and not for empowering their citizens: this is true in fact of most political parties or governments today. Politicians should be empowering its peoples and the planet.
