There are advantages to selling your products online vs. offline. First of all, the entire world is your potential customer when you sell online. Secondly, your overhead is drastically cut down because you don’t incur the same expenses associated with running a brick-and-mortar business, such as rent and employees. Third, your hours are more flexible with an online business.
As a small business owner, you are always looking for ways to increase sales volume. So, here are 10 places where you can sell your products online.
1. eBay
Millions of people visit eBay every day to buy anything from cars to rare collectibles. Whatever it is you want to sell, you can do it through eBay. Although no one likes to pay fees, the wide reach and protection it offers to both buyer and seller make it an attractive place to sell.
2. Comparison Shopping Sites
Sites like Amazon and PriceGrabber attract lots of intent-driven shoppers. These sites create a competitive atmosphere because there are a lot of sellers there, but at the same time, you’ll see high volumes of buyers. Most of these comparison-shopping sites charge a commission for each sale so keep that in mind.
3. Classified Ads Sites
Classified ad sites like Craigslist, Backpage, Kijiji and Sell.com receive high volumes of daily traffic. These types of sites are ideal for low-priced items or local sales. Take advantage of your social connections and get your product out there. Be cautious though – you do not want to lose your reputation or be labeled as a spammer.

Sites like Groupon and LivingSocial are the latest trend in-group purchasing. By buying in bulk, subscribers/customers are able to save money through group discounts. As a seller, your profit margin may go down, but you’ll benefit in a couple of ways: 1) Getting new customers to your door and possibly up-selling later on, and 2) Volume.
