There are many people in the world who have achieved success, both now and in the past. Its great to have role models, people to look up to, and people who show you good examples.
I’m going to choose an easy one this time around: Arnold Schwartzenegger.
Arnie’s 6 rules for success are simple, but powerful.
His story in itself is very inspiring. He was always a man who never shied away from difficulty. In fact, Arnie was born to it. He came from a very poor Austrian family. His father was a police chief. His family were unable to afford meat regularly throughout his upbringing, which is an important ingredient of body building….he only began eating meat regularly when he joined the Army.
There was no TV in their house, no toilet, and the arrival of a new fridge in the Schwartzenegger family was extremely exciting.
When you know Arnold’s background, its easy to see why he was such a success:
As a child, he was extremely disciplined. He trained to become a body-builder every day, even on the weekends when the gym was closed because he was able to break in through a faulty window.
He continued his disciplined approach to his training when he joined the Army, and would even train when on in the field on military exercises.
Everyone knows the story from there: when he emigrated to the US he had almost immediate success in body building competitions, and within a few years became the benchmark for body builders worldwide.
Following his bodybuilding career was his acting…and although fairly simplistic by the standards of most, none can deny the extraordinary success of his films, and he became a very popular screen figure.
And of course on to his 4th career: success in politics, and becoming the Governor of California.
Here’s a video/audio of Arnold explaining his 6 rules for success:
And a quote from Arnie: Vision is purpose, and when your purpose is clear, so are your life choices. Vision creates faith and faith creates willpower. With faith there is no anxiety, no doubt – just absolute confidence.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger
