How To Write a Blog Post That has the Recipe For Success!
Back when I decided to start blogging for myself, I did not know how to write a blog. Let alone how to prepare, structure, and promote my blog posts. So for this post, I am going to save a lot of new and intermediate bloggers time, by sharing my recipe for success with blogging. I am going to go over my thought process and preparation before writing my blog. How I choose my topic and how I am going to present the information to my readers. I am also going to go over how I structure my content, to be easily read, understood and liked. Then I am going to go over the more technical aspects of blogging by going into how to SEO your blog posts.
How to Write a Blog: Preparation
Before you start writing your blog, there are some things that you need to think about and do to prepare. What I do to prepare is think about the specific topic or goal of my post. I usually ask myself, is this article or blog post going to be part of something bigger? Is the post going to be part of an upcoming book, ebook, or whitepaper? and am I going to add a video to accompany this post?
Once you have figured out the topic of your blog post and what you are trying to accomplish. For SEO purposes, you need to figure out the main keyword you are trying to rank for. This is going to take a little bit of keyword research on your part. So as an example, if you were writing about how you lost 15 pounds juicing. You will need to figure out what is the most searched keyword, related to your blog topic. You can do this by using Google Keyword Tool, for your keyword research.
How to Write a Blog: Structure
Once you have done all the preparation needed for your blog post, it is time to start writing your blog. So here is how I structure my blog posts for success.
Attractive Titles: The Title should have your main keyword in it. A good title will attract attention and increase your website conversions.
First Paragraph Teaser: The first paragraph should be an very nice sounding introduction to what your blog post is going to be about. So the reader will make up there mind to keep reading or not.
Nice Picture: If you can help it, your blogs picture should be original, relevant, beautiful and or funny. A nice picture can grab and keep your readers attention.
Connecting With Your Audience: Your blog should connect your audience with you and they should feel what you say writing, have gone through or are currently going through. Your readers should have a question answered with your content and writing, they should have learned something that will help them in the future.
Conversion Section: The conversion section of your blog post is actually a call to action to get your readers to buy what you are trying to sell, or subscribe to your email list/newsletter.
SEO Structure:
-Have main keyword in Page Title
-Have a keyword density of 2%-5% (for every 100 words in your blog post have 2%-5% be the main keyword)
-Have the main keyword in your article title
-H1 tag containing main keyword
-H2 tag containing main keyword
-H3 tag containing main keyword
-”strong” (b) tag containing main keyword (bold your main keyword)
-”em” (i) tag containing main keyword Natural Health (italicize your main keyword)
-”alt” image tag containing main keyword
-internal link (a link back to another page of article on your website)

**I copied this Blog Post off of the Alexa.com website, it was written in whole by Shawn Lyles, (with a few minor objections, questions and Interjections, just to keep things fun and interesting) by me, Donato Stough.**
*anything written by Donato stough would be clearly marked with 1 or more asterisk on both sides, just to identify what was added to the blog post.
