How to Give German Commands for German Shepherds

You want to learn how to give German commands to German Shepherds? First off, you need to define your goals. Are you doing it because of the “German” thing? Are you trying to get into dog training and obedience training? Or are you trying to show off to your friends and family?
Which is it?
It’s got to be one of those listed above…right?
For me, I wanted to get into to training, I wanted to have a trained dog, and I WANTED IT TO LOOK BADASS WHEN I GAVE MY DOGS COMMANDS IN GERMAN.
And let me tell you one thing, when you give your dog commands in German and it obeys, people perk up and start to take notice.
This doesn’t have to be German commands for German Shepherds. It can be for any breed of dog your choice. It all looks cool when your dog obeys in German.

This is a great list of the most common German commands for German shepherds. This is a great starting point to teach your dogs these common commands.

My favorite command is “platz”…which means down. What I do is tell my dog “platz,” then make her stay down until I say, “free” in English. You can teach your dog this too.
Don’t let your dog get up from the down position until you give them a “free” command or give them their next command such as “heel” or “fuss” which means heel.
