Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Article marketing is an excellent way for businesses to advertise their services and products. When an article is written about a topic that is interesting and relevant to a business, these articles will attract potential customers and boost a businesses visibility. The following tips should help you get started with article advertising.

The title of your article should be unique and compelling, so you can capture the interest of your targeted audience. There are a lot of articles out there, so getting someone to click on your article out of hundreds is a challenge in itself.

Try not to be a copycat. You’ll gain more readers by being standing out in the crowd. Due to the evolution of duplicate-content filters, it is increasingly important that your writing be original.

Publishing articles is not effective without the proper marketing. Consider using online article directories for marketing your articles. Find as many of these directories as you can and post your articles to them. Your viewer traffic should increase dramatically as a result.

Your articles should have something to do with your keywords. There has to be cohesiveness between your title, key phrases, images, etc. The search engines require some sort of connection so they can judge the relevancy of your blog.

Quality Articles

It may be a good idea to hire writers to create articles for your site, so you can focus on spinning and reselling your content. Be sure to only pay for quality articles that engage the reader. Poor quality articles can negatively impact your business.

When you go with a article directory you need to know your rules. Learning and adhering to their rules will keep you in good standing with these directories.

Biographies must be appended to all articles you write. Your bio should tell pertinent information about yourself and should link back to your website. If someone likes what you have written, they will be motivated to see your website as well. Conveniently placing the link will help them get there. Readers are also more apt to personally connect to an author after having read their bio.

Write in your own voice whenever writing your own material. If you find yourself reaching for a dictionary or thesaurus just to get through the article, don’t bother sharing it. Readers are a savvy bunch. They can pick up on clues that you are not writing with your own voice or writing directed towards a specific outcome. Write with a general audience in mind and tweak for different age groups.

Headlines are important to article writing. A boring headline will not entice people to read your article. Come up with several potential headlines instead of going with the first idea. Ask people around you for advice for the best results.

The headlines for your articles need to grab the attention of your readers. If you make your titles interesting people will read your content.

Use short paragraphs, like this one. Research suggests that people may be more easily distracted while reading online than while reading a printed text. This means you will need to make each paragraph short, to the point and informative, if you wish to catch the reader’s interest.

The bottom line is that article submission offers great opportunities for business owners wishing to gain customers. They just have to create content their customers want to read. The articles will be read by potential customers and entice them to purchase the products or use the service. You will increase your customer base by using this article’s advice.

To Your Success,
