Die Fleas Die!!!

This summer has been the worst as far as I’ve seen for fleas.  it’s been much hotter then normal here in Ohio.

So because of that fleas are so horrible.  For a cat and dog owner it’s horrible to see them go through irritation and pain of the fleas.

I might like “vampires” but these blood suckers are the worst in my opinion.  Fleas are hard to get rid of and they are a pest to our animals and to even us humans.

I’ve read so many things you can do to help get rid of them but not all of them work.  The best thing to do is to go to your local vet and get whatever they recommend for your animals.

Now for your house here are a few things you can do:

1. Leave the house with your animals and go to a friends house or hotel to stay the night.  Keep the heat up way high or keep it freezing.

Fleas hate too much heat and if it’s too cold.  The only thing you would have to worry here is if it doesn’t cover any areas that they can hide.

While your gone get a flea comb and go through your animals fur to try to get rid of any fleas or the best thing to do to get rid of the fleas on your animals is to use whatever the vet recommend.

I also recommend if you are going to do this is to bring some extra clothes with you.  Fleas can get on you as well!!!

2. The second thing you can do is clean the house.  When you clean the house you make it hard for the fleas actually so a cleaner house is better.

3. You can also use salt on the floor and on your furniture.  I know that might sound silly but it has worked for me in the past.

Fleas absolutely don’t like salt!

4. I’ve seen other ways as well but one I think is really silly and not going to do is to put dirt on my floor.  Well I’m not going to do that lol I think that is one of the silliest things I’ve read.

I don’t recommend doing the sprays or the bombs lol it doesn’t do the greatest.  Some sprays do decently they can help unpopulate the fleas a bit same with the bombs but it doesn’t get rid of the fleas.

One thing I haven’t tried on my dogs is to rub oranges on them.  My friend told me that was one of the remedies from something on tv for dogs.  For dogs only this isn’t for cats!

They said it was something about the oil of the orange.  Your not even suppose to open it up!
