Cool Desserts And Kid Aproved When It Comes To Celebrating The 4th Of July Pt. 1
i always look forward to the 4th of july! Every year I always think of cool things to eat that I can bring to the party. Every year I bring my awesome brownies but I also like to bring other things as well.
For example one year I brought strawberry blossoms. Strawberry blossoms is where you cut the tip of the strawberry and cut it open to where it looks like a blossom or a flower…then you put in the cream cheese and it is good if you love strawberries.
Some great examples that are what normal 4th of July parties have is barbeque meat, potato salad and macaroni salad.
One thing that I thought was cool that kids can make is marshmallows with jello sugar. Yes, lol jello sugar!
I know if you are like me lol I was like wow that is a great idea because I was looking online and I found out a way that is different that isn’t too messy rather then using color dye. So you want to go get marshmallows big or small what ever the kids prefer and roll the marshmallows into the jello sugar.
You need to put in a drop of water so that the sugar will stick to the marshmallows. You will need a jello package that has red jello sugar and you will need one that has blue jello sugar. If you use the big marshmallows you can use those sticks like when using on meat or fruit I think they are called kabobs and you can even add fruit as well if you want.
Make sure you also add a regular marshmallows to make it red, white and blue. If you use the tiny marshmallows just put them in a bowl and then you will have a colorful red, white and blue marshmallows!
I think using jello sugar is better then using color dye because it would probably make it too wet. A cool thing you can do with fruit is to get a kabob stick and cut out watermelon with a star cutter plus put that at the top of your kabob.
After you add the watermelon you can add other fruit like blueberry and bananas. You could even add a regular white marshmallow to add white to it if you have the watermelon and blueberry on the stick.
It will look kinda like the ones in the first picture above! You can also instead having the watermelon you can use a star rice krispies treat.
This is something the kids will love! I actually decided to make the marshmallows with the jello sugar for the 4th and then create some fruit kabobs or mix up the marshmallow kabobs with fruit!
Not only will the kids love to eat em but they would probably love to help create em as well! Every year I make brownies and one of the guys that hosts this party this year actually requested me to make them but this year I want to make star brownies lol yes I know I’am going star crazy but hey it really puts the c in celebrating the 4th of july.
So my plan is to get some icing…I was thinking of using cool whip but it always goes crappy when it gets really hot so I am going to use icing instead. I’ll get some white icing and then try to find some blue and red star edible decorations to put on it and it would look awesome.
Not only am I going to do that but I am planning on making two batches of brownies and one batch is going to have mint candy inside of it that will make the brownies…mint brownies. I am also going to make a batch that has several cool ingredients which are caramel, cool whip and marshmallows.
I think it is going to be really good..don’t you?
What do you think about my cool 4th of july food ideas…let me know by commenting below and look soon for my second part of good eats when it comes to celebrating the 4th of july.
Thanks and I appreciate you!
