Having a best friend is one of the most wonderful things in life.
“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart”
That quote is so true and I’m going to show you how by telling you a true story of my own. A warning to you though it’s not all sunshine and rainbows!
Even though I wish it was! I can tell you this though I’m so grateful for having two best friends. My husband and my room mate Stacey!
These pictures by the way are not new lol they are almost ten years old. We are going to be celebrating our tenth year of marriage in May.
If you look at the very first picture, that was my best friend Deanna (I’m on the left of the picture) that I’ve known since 8th grade which was many many years ago.
I’ve known her pretty much since 1994!
She was the type of person that just always made me smile and I loved having her around. We were very different, lol.
It’s what made it interesting but we did have some things we both liked a lot. For example Nancy Drew…we would get together and try to figure it out (the game).
We liked to just hang out in our pajamas and have a girls night in. Get some popcorn and movies and we were set.
We just had a blast together! Then going on two years ago my husband started being friends with her sisters husband and he invited them over.
I didn’t know about this till last minute. I personally didn’t really like her sister’s husband. He was rude and mean…someone you don’t want to be around let me just put it that way.
The thing is though this was many years later since I’ve seen him. When I met him I realized he was a changed man and well I welcomed them in with open arms.
We all had fun and it was nice to have another lady friend. I mostly have guy friends so it’s nice you know.
Anyway, what I think happened was my best friend that I’ve been best friends with well it seems forever turned on me. I honestly think she got jealous.
The reason I think that is because she told me it’s either her or her sister and her sister’s husband. She made me make a decision and I told her flat out I’d never do that to her and that it wasn’t right.
I wasn’t going to do that so she just decided right there and then that we were no longer best friends.
I’m really not sure what was the reason and she never really did tell me what it was but I did notice one thing. See she always hangs on to things and don’t forgive which is bad but that is how she was and I think that’s what happened to me even though I didn’t do anything.
Other then make new friends! Even before that I noticed she was angry…she just kept everything inside. Let it bottle up!
I knew she was going through things and things were a little stressful but even I wouldn’t treat her the way she treated me. She was mean, bitter and was pretty much acting as a child…ignoring me.
I remember coming to her and just spilling out how I felt. I was crying and I noticed her face she was not concerned at all.
Something clicked in her and she changed. That wasn’t the Deanna I knew.
I did everything I could do!
It hurt you know not to be part of her wedding and not being able to give her a bridal shower like she’s done for me.
Even with all the pain she caused me I’ve forgiven her and I keep dreaming and praying that someday we will be best friends again.
