Transform yourself from the outside and in

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Well.. This might seem wierd and much like many other “commercials”. You might be thinking I’ll be taking about skinlotion or make-up, but.. not quite.

Recently in biology scientists have found that cells respond to the exterior environment much more than we ever suspected. And, as I believe, we work similar to the cells we have, then.. why wouldn’t we? This seems like a longshot, I know. But the thing is, if you are aware of how you look and how you can improve the things you aren’t happy with or accept yourself for what you are, don’t you think that would affect your confidence which then also would make you feel better and before you know it, you’d turn into one of those confident, happy and successful people!

So.. there are two things I want to mention today. The first thing would be working out. This is where everybody would go “oh no, really, she too?” I just want to make it clear that the easiest way to become more confident would be start working out. One reason would be that when you do that, you release endorphins which makes you happy. Second of all your body becomes fitter/”tighter” and thirdly, you’ll have more energy during the day. Well, I’ve discovered a 4-minute work out. Now it has long been known that intense work outs are more efficient than long work-outs both when it comes to fitness level and muscle growth. This workout includes doing burpees, jumping jacks, mountain climber or squat thrusts for 20 seconds, then resting for 10 seconds and going again, doing this for four minutes. Now, if you’d do this every second day then I assure you that you would start seeing results! It only takes 4 efficient minutes a day. Having more energy and seeing small changes in your body might do a lot for you. Another thing which might happen is that even though you don’t actually change physically, you’d just start feeling differently about yourself. Give it a try! Aren’t you worth 4 minutes for yourself?

Second thing I want talk about is your skin. Your skin is a greater media then you might think. There is a hormone called oxytocin which is related to your empathic feelings for others, it’s the hormone which makes you naive and trust people which might have let you down before, but it is also makes you feel happy. If you are happy it would be easier to feel good about yourself. Have you ever been standing in the shower and putting soap on your body and really liked doing it? Massage your own body makes you look at it in a new perspective, accepting it for what it is. Scrubbing your body and touching those areas of your body that you might not be to comfortable about is a way to accept it for what it is. Here I am, making assumptions that everyone has an area of their body in which they are not comfortable with, but if you are, write a comment! Tell me about how you look at yourself and what your visions are! Anyways where I wanted to get with all of this was this amazing thing I recently found out and I love it! Olive oil, real virgin olive oil mixed with sugar. Make sure the sugar isn’t dry but it does not have to be large amounts of oil that is not tied to the sugar. Then, take a shower and finish up by scrubbing  your face and your body (maybe not supersensitive areas since the sugar is a bit rough on the skin) wash with water and don’t do anything else with your skin – no soap! Then when you leave the shower dry the remaining oil off and as the skin is dry and the remaining olive oil has penetrated the skin, you’ll feel wonderful! You’ll have a soft and moist skin! I’ve done this on my body 2 times a week and my face once a day, before I go to bed and when I wake up in the morning I just wash it off with water. (The reason I due this is due to acne, not severe, but enough to annoy me.) What I’ve found out is that jiggely places aren’t as jiggely anymore, being massaged and taken care of, which is wierd since we’re closing in on christmas! And no, I have not yet started working the 4-minute-program out! I promise I’ll get back to you after new years and tell you if I find any results! I have also realised that those aweful and annoying celulites are going away! Wooooh!

I’m not saying this method will transform your entire body and you’ll come out of it lean just by doing the 4-minute-workout and scrub your body with sugar and olive oil twice a week, but.. it’s a process, taking care of oneself, giving oneself the time one should have to feel good about oneself. People today are busy with their jobs, school, parenting, trying to have spare time, trying to make it work with a partner, but people often forget themselves. It is not uncommon however that people are looking for external help such as “how to ..” books to make themselves feel good, but the work that needs to be done after having read the book, begins inside, so I thought we should do it somewhat different, taking care of your skin and possibly taking up some sort of exercise, then we can transform ourselves from the inside. I’ll talk abit more about that tomorrow. Now I’m off to bed. Good night!
