A blogger is born!

Welcome to my blog! I love to write and have made a career out of doing promotional writing for corporations and non-profit entities. I started my company in 1996, after promising myself that I would have my own business by the time I was 35, and I achieved that goal! I help companies promote their activities and achievements through the written word in a variety of ways. So with today’s emphasis on social media and the power of blogging, I decided to try my hand at this casual yet informative writing vehicle that can be an engine toward success.
(I still write with a pen sometimes to get my thoughts down – there’s something about scribbling on paper that is very satisfying. But due to my handwriting, I’ll type my blogs so you can read it!)
I recently ran across an opportunity that I hope will inspire me to blog every day. Every day – that is certainly a commitment! But what a wonderful way to keep my skills honed and get words on paper. And through this opportunity, called Empower Network, my daily blogging may be able to bring in some income! How exciting is that!
One of the things I do in my core business is help companies target their prospects and analyze the best ways to reach those prospects. Once we determine how to reach the prospects – we identify the sales message that will be most likely to encourage customer loyalty, or sales, or whatever goal my client may have for his prospects. This takes some thinking about the most convenient way for the customer, not the client, to run across that message.
You see, to me, writing and marketing communications is like a wonderful puzzle. If I say it one way, it may be effective, but if I rearrange my ad copy, or article copy, or press release copy – or even better – direct response copy – it can sound even better and impart the message in a stronger way! It is like rearranging the parts to a puzzle until you say “Voila!” (or “Viola” as my father used to quip.) When it’s right – you know it.
I won’t always write about business and marketing communications – there are too many opportunities for the blog to be a voice on many topics. I have another business as well – and I’ll be sure to talk about that more in the days to come. And this new blogging experience – it may take me somewhere I never thought I could be – and perhaps you too!
So I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me through my blogging, and when I run across a helpful tip to help promote your business, or a story you may enjoy, I will share it and hope that you’ll visit often.
Happy reading!
Diane
