I am Davendren Govender, a South African citizen, and I am 22 years of age. I have a degree in environmental management from the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) and currently in the process of completing my BSc Honours degree in Environmental Management.
- Furthermore I have always been involved in simple environmental schemes and projects from a young age such as the Doorstep Environmental Programme, which has motivated me in this designated field where I was educated about recycling from an early age and what items can be recycled effectively.
- I have also participated in the COP 17 event held in Durban during November/December 2011, which was one of the largest and most critical environmental conferences ever held, especially in South Africa. This event further elaborated on sustainability in the developing world, which as a COP17 environmental volunteer, I had to educate delegates and tourists about.
- I was also part of the GIS team in Maseru, Lesotho working on the “Systematic Land regularization in Lesotho Project” in an attempt to demarcate boundaries and parcels of land to the locals to give them property rights/ownership. I have dealt with Relational Data-base Management Systems (RDBMS) such as M-Files and worked with ArcGis v10.1. I have worked with map projections, digitizing of land, cleaning attribute tables, calculating fields, overlaying data, creating overview maps and preparing maps for publication. I have sound knowledge about ArcGis and applying this to the complex spatial problems including the several tools from Arc-Toolbox. This was done in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Local Administration Authority (LAA).
- Over and above the professional accomplishments, as a graduate of environmental management I have made it my duty to give back to the local community in which I live, by attempting to launch my own environmental group. This would be supported and guided by local community activists and engaging the youth in environmental tasks and equipping them with sound knowledge
- In completing many of these tasks of which I have been assigned to, I have developed various skills such as :

- Working with ArcGis version 10.1

- Comparing pre-vectorized Spatial data with Alphanumerical SAR1 data and if it corresponds publish the relevant parcels
