Zach Sobiech, at the age of 14, found out he had a rare form of terminal cancer. So he became a rock star, and millions of people got to see his music before he passed away on May 20, 2013. This is his beautiful story.
I choose to live now and make a difference…
After seeing this story about Zach Sobiech, I once again have a renewed strength to live now and make a difference. I want to live like it is the last moments of my life! Today, I realized again, how comfortable I had become and how much I was taking my life for granted. Isn’t it strange how we fool ourselves into believing that we have already lived the best part of our life or that we will live forever?
Live now and make a difference was the example that Zach set for his life. He lived every moment knowing he had only a few precious moments left.
Live now and make a difference-not on my radar screen…
When I saw this video, I couldn’t help but remember back to my own encounter with the thoughts of death.
It was in the winter of 2002, a normal day like most, with one exception; I had to go for the results of the mammogram that had been done the previous week. Never imaging there would be any problems, in a brief instant, I was told I had breast cancer and an immediate mastectomy, chemo and radiation were in order.
My life flashed before me and I begin to ask myself the hard questions. What was I leaving behind from the life I had lived? How had I made a difference in this world? What kind of legacy would I be leaving for my family and others?
I had no reason to live now and make a difference…
I would like to say, I did as Zach Sobiech did, but I didn’t. Instead, I drew inside myself and prepared for the worst. Feelings of fear and loneliness set in as I went about life believing my purpose in this life was over.
By March of 2003, I had went through the major surgery and had begun the necessary treatments and procedures that would make me well. By July 2003, I was considered cancer free and I was a survivor! Ten years next month!
The word cancer changed my whole life. Even when I was told my diagnosis looked promising; my thoughts would stray to the unknown. Today I have found peace.
It has taken time, but I know when I trust in God, believe on His promises and place my focus on others, I can once again live now and make a difference. I am here to fulfill God’s purpose. I believe if I can love and help others, I can not only fulfill my purpose, but also live my dreams.
Today I strive to
live now and make a difference…
To make all this financially possible, I have teamed up with an awesome company. I am working from home, helping others and living my life without financial restraints. It’s amazing!
