I Have Done My Second Stand Up Comedy Performance
Some of you may have seen my first stand up comedy comedy performance and can remember how nervous I was doing the performance. If not I have included the video below.
In that video, I had a desire since I was younger to do comedy. The sad thing was that I was unable to find opportunity to do it. Then I saw there was a comedy competition that was going on in my city. I decided here is my opportunity. I made the decision to sign up and then it hit me I did not have material to present. Luckily I had a week to think of something to do. I reflected back on the times where I had practiced by myself different sets I would do if I had the opportunity and I had one in mind. I practiced it and was prepared the day before the competition. On the day of the competition, I felt like I had drunk 10 cups of coffee because I was fidgety and had a hard time sitting still. Then the fated time came and the I made it to the event, it felt like I my stomach was trying out for the gymnastics. The host assured me that everything will be okay and told me the time would be cut to 5 minutes because of the amount of comics. In my mind was, “OMG I had prepared for nine minutes so I could have one minute to spare on a ten minute limit to give people chance to laugh.
Luckily I made it through the performance and the video above was the result of overcoming fear for a chance at a life long dream. Afterwards, I found out I was the only one in the competition that did stand up for the first time. Everyone else have done it for a longer period of time.
Second Comedy Performance At Copper Top
The second performance was held at a bar and grill in this plaza in Huntsville that I had never really noticed. I felt more at ease before this performance than the first one. The only thing was that I would be performing in front of a crowd that have been known to hackle the performers. It was truly a test of my ability to perform. However I am not sure if most stand up comedy performers go through that on their second performance but it was kind of a big step in my opinion. My turn came up and I take a deep breathe and walk up to the mic. It was at that moment I start feeling the vibe of the audience and it was weird. It felt like I was having a conversation with the audience. Although some of the nervousness was there, I still felt a little more confident than I did on the first one. How Does Your Comedy Performance Apply To Me
Maybe you have a vision and a dream that you have had since you were younger or as far as you can remember. I hope my experience with the comedy performance will inspire you to go forth on the dreams. Of Course, there will be fear and you hear that inner voice tell you to turn back, but I can tell you if you make your mind up to go forward in your vision and dreams the universe has a way of bring you closer and closer to it. If you decide to what till tomorrow or when you are 100% ready you may miss out on key opportunities. So take out your goals, go ahead an dream again, take ahold of the vision that your creator has given you and you would be able on your way to live life as designed by your imagination coming into reality.
