9.11 . . . What Do You Remember?

I will never forget what I was doing on that day of 9.11

We were flying to a retreat for my work (entrepreneur) because  I won a trip to Palm Island Resort for the weekend to be pampered

We were in Memphis Tennessee sitting on the next flight out to Florida our destination.

We ran to the connection so we would not miss our flight when we saw people just hovered over the TV but no time to stop.  We keep moving fast.

We sat on the airplane for at least 20 minutes wondering why we were not in the air yet

Then came the bombshell . . .

Our flight was cancelled

We were to deboard the plane and wait

As we were walking past the gates, we noticed the horrible event on a nearby television that explained the situation.  We sat in S H O C K watching the Twin Towers crumbling down over and over while listening to the news.

In fact, we were watching the news for days in a nearby hotel

Just waiting for the word we could fly out. . .

stuck in Memphis instead of being on an exotic island

We went back to the airport for we were told flights would be going out soon

We waited and waited till . . .

ended up spending the night in the airport

loud speaker kept saying . . .

“Don’t leave any luggage unattended”

needless to say –  didn’t get a lot of sleep

So the next day, we were able to go back thru security to the gate to finally board the plane

we were excited to be able to return home

We sat and sat back in the airport gate and wondered why no one else was coming back too.

It look so deserted
What was going on

Then we found out while walking back to security that the AIRPORT had a bomb threat and everyone was evacuated.

Thankful it was just a threat or we would have been blown up

My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones on that awful day of 9.11

I know there were many heros and people who pulled together to rescue and fight for the lives of the victims

I’m so proud of those who care and had an Impact on us all.
