Lightbulb Moments

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

How many times in your life had you had the nagging doubt and thought of “well, what if …?”.  As I listened to the John Mroz interview on the Inner Circle audios today, I was reassured and at the same time I remembered something I had learned before in my internet marketing studies.   I had a ‘lightbulb moment’.   Don’t ya just love those?  When something tends to collaborate into a peaceful realization and you say, “Ahhh yes, everything is gonna be alright”.

One of the things I would like to improve on is how to “sell” someone.  We all have our strengths and weaknesses.  And the weaknesses can eventually turn around 180º into one our strongest features.  I remember in high school when I had to stand up and give a speech my heart would start pounding and I would get anxious.  Because of that anxiety my throat would be so dry as I was speaking and it felt as if I was going to hyperventilate.  Horrible!  I thought my life would end at that moment.  LOL, not really end but I think you know what I mean.  To this day,  my fear of speaking in front of a crowd has lessened, thank goodness.

How many times have you been SO EXCITED about an opportunity or something new in your life and you wanted to tell the whole world?   (Yes, that would be me).   However, one small nagging fear or doubt can keep us from not speaking up.   Do I tell my friends? Or do I not?  A few years back, I did just that.  Now I have a different outlook on it.

John touched on this subject of targeting your market.  Target the people that already have the mindset of an entrepreneur – people who want to go down that road of new opportunity;  people who are not afraid to take a risk to make their dreams come true;  people who don’t like the daily grind and choose not to be imprisoned with the thought of retiring at a job that sucks and drains the life out of them.

I knew that! I had learned long ago that you cannot change someone’s beliefs no matter how hard you try.  Lots of people like the idea of doing the ’9 to 5′ because it feels secure to them.  They know if they put in so many years they can eventually retire.  They know if they show up at their job it will “be there” for them.   It all comes down to “job security” for the majority.   However, in my opinion, no J.O.B. is ever secure … it can be taken away any day.

I Love this quote in regards to busting out of ‘the norm’ mindset:

“Security is mostly a superstition.  It does not exist in nature, nor do children of men as a whole experience it.  Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.  Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.  ~ Helen Keller

Boldness!!  I love it.

The truth of the matter is this:  You may not ever be able to change a person, because that decision is entirely up to them.

BUT …

You May Be Able To Change The Way They THINK about something!

Maybe you have been indecisive about making a turn for the better.

Perhaps you would like to see A Better Way

Here It Is!
