Bring Your Marketing Into The Mobile Age

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Mobile marketing is a dynamic strategy; you just have to understand what to expect from using mobile devices to market your business. If you can pull it off the right way, this is a good way to be successful. Try out the tips in this article to ensure your success.

Mobile Marketing

Do not send pointless messages to your customers. This will desensitize your market to your mobile marketing messages.  Only send them information that they’ll find relevant and useful. A marketing campaign that starts sending out random or useless texts will not be a success. Readers can get random entertainment from their friends. They prefer to receive quality content from businesses.

Ask some friends to help you test your site, ads, emails and other aspects related to your campaign. For even more objective input, you may want to consider paying for outside testing services.

Make Your Mobile Marketing Easy and Beneficial To Share

Make it easier for one recipient of your mobile marketing ad to send it and they probably will! Before you publish your promotions, assure they are easy to forward. If you give incentive to forward you will have even bigger returns on your mobile advertising investment.

Mobile marketing strategies are an effective way to broaden your customer base; however, in order for these strategies to be successful, they have to work on multiple mobile platforms. Your efforts must work on as many popular devices as possible, or you’ll risk losing customers.

Mobile websites should use search engine optimization techniques just as larger websites do. A great place to start your mobile search engine optimization is Google, since most searches that go through mobile devices happen there.

Know Your Mobile Marketing Audience

It is important to do research about your potential audience. Base your strategies on facts and observations. Do not invest in a campaign that does not correspond to your audience. Find out how much your customers use their cell phones. What OS is on their phones? Find out lots of information about the audience you are trying to target, you will be more successful in reaching them.

Before mass producing your mobile marketing scheme to all your customers, do a test batch first to ensure that it is working as it should. If your messages don’t reach your customers for some reason or are otherwise ineffective, perhaps as a result of technical problems or illegibility, you will fail in achieving the goal of your mobile marketing campaign. Get your coworker’s impressions of your campaign messages before starting.

Incentivized Mobile Marketing Does Not Cost You, It Pays

You need to give some to get something back. Offering incentives can improve any mobile marketing campaign. This can be as simple as a weather update or event information. Coupons are a good way to offer consumer participation as well increase the take rate for your campaign.

Give your customers the chance to send feedback through a quiz or trivia games via their mobile devices. This gives a great boost to your marketing campaign. Research has shown that many people will answer back if a fun quiz is sent to their mobile phone. You could simply ask an interesting question or ask for feedback on your products or campaign.

There are many new and innovative marketing ideas when it comes to mobile devices, and considering them all can feel a bit confusing. Luckily, these tips contain advice that could be beneficial to you.
