Are the posters and magazines that are flaunting white sand beaches and crystal clear water also giving you the itchy feeling to travel?

However, there this little thing called money that is holding you back? There are lots of ways to travel, even on a smaller budget. The main obstacle of budget travel is the flight. For those who are on a tough budget, but do not want to miss out on “beach” fun, then you should read the next few tips carefully.

Budget Airlines

Gone are the days when luxury and comfort was associated with flying. Today, the airlines are competing for costumers with low-cost travel. Yet, you need to keep several things in mind.

If you are lucky enough to live in or close to a major city, finding budget flights will be a lot easier. So it might be wise to look for flights from the next closest big city. Taking two flights or taking a bus to the major city and then flying can work out significantly cheaper.

However, many “budget” airlines fly to and from smaller alternative airports that are located at the edge of a major city. When targeting these airports and airlines you can find incredibly cheap tickets. Yet, beware! The alternative airports can be a lot further away from the city than you think.

Thus, extra costs can arise, and you will have to expect longer travelling time. So before you book, check out the location of the airport on a map, as well as, becoming well informed  about transport costs. In most cases, there will be buses shuttling from the small airport to either the big airport or to the city.

You can simply check prices on their websites, that are usually readily available. Nevertheless, using the public transport available will definitely work out cheaper in the long run but can be significantly longer.

Travel Taxes & Fees

Airport taxes can significantly raise the price of your budget ticket. Airports differ in the amount of airport charges that they require. That means you can lower the price of your ticket by choosing an airport for which the airport taxes are lower. Also, making multiple stops will sometimes, increase the price of your ticket, since you have to pay multiple airport taxes.

Use Multiple Travel Websites

Checking an array of sites will allow you compare prices and make an informed decision for budget travel. There are many online travel sites that can offer great deals travel packages, even for beach travels.

However, checking the prices on the site of the actual airline company can be surprising as the price of the airline can actually work out cheaper than that of a travel site.

So now what?

Once you are at the beach with your successful “budget travel plan”, take a tent with you or sign up for couch surfing. These types of accommodations will cost you next to nothing, or for free. When it comes to food, eat where the local cuisines are available, and you can simply enjoy authentic and cheap food. However, when you enjoy your stay at the beach; you don’t really need much more.
