Traits of an Entrepreneur are often instilled and show at a very young age.  You may have noticed your own strong business traits if you ever ran a lemonade stand or had a paper route when you were just a kid…

What Are the Main Traits of and Entrepreneur?

Maybe you desire to replace your income online from home or make a living with some big idea you’ve been afraid to pursue?

When I was young you could find me offering to do chores for neighbors, mowing lawns and pulling weeds, when I was 9 I have two paper routes and I started working in restaurants with a work permit when I was about 14 or so.

I always had a strong work ethic and I was always good with money… It wasn’t until I got fired for the first time though that I knew I had the traits of and entrepreneur

…and shortly after that incident made a decision that I would never work for anyone else again.

Since 2003 when I got fired… I’ve been involved with a ton of different business’ from Real Estate, to Lending to Internet Marketing and Blogging.

It’s really been a tough road but I’m very happy to say that as of today I have more leads and business coming in than I can handle.  I’ve built an amazing team and much of my business is hands off, where I can work just a few hours per day.

I’m really looking forward to some explosive growth over the next few years.

What I wanted to do with this posting is go through what I have learned are most important “traits of an entrepreneur” who is consistently successful in his endeavors.

Trait of an Entrepreneur: You Must be a Risk Taker

If you are going to get into business for yourself or have any kind of entrepreneurial endeavor… You MUST be prepared to make careful, calculated risks.  In business, there are never any guarantees of success.

You must be prepared to put some capital up front.

Capital does not always mean cash… You must be prepared to put in sweat and time without compensation right away.  When I first started my lending business I was putting in several hours per day, five days per week… I put in this kind of time and energy and I did not get paid a dime until about five months after I started.

Are you ready to take some risk and put in some time and effort to be an entrepreneur?

Trait of an Entrepreneur: You Gotta Have Thick Skin

When you are working on your new idea for a business one of the most important parts is to TELL people about your service or idea.  You better be ready for those people… Usually the people that are closest to you that will tell you things like

“that will never work” or your getting involved in some type of “scam” pyramid or something like that.  You will hear all kinds of negative things but you’ve gotta have thick skin.

Be prepared to get a ton of turn downs and hear a million “nos”

Think of it like this… You must collect 100 nos in order  get to your first Yes.  The faster you go and sort through the “nos” the faster you will get your “Yes”

Traits of an Entrepreneur: You’ve Got to Be Passionate!

If you don’t have an unwavering passion and belief in what you are doing and a big enough reason as to WHY you are doing it you will almost always fail.

No matter what the idea or business is… you’ve gotta have you whole heart into it.  You’ve got to believe with everything you’ve got in your service product and ability to deliver it.

This trait may not come over night… however you may have an idea that hits you like a ton of bricks and you may be 100% into it right when you think of it.

At this point the key is keeping that passion and turning it into massive daily actions.
