All About Office Time Management

Article #9

If you are working in an office or if you own a small business,

you need to ask some questions in order to know about office time management.

Are you able to work efficiently?

Are your productivity levels satisfactory?

Are you getting distracted?

If you’re not able to see satisfactory productivity, then it is high time you understand the concept of better office time management.

Let us take a look at several tips which help you in the process of engaging yourself in a proper way in your workplace.

1. Hire a secretary to answer your calls

When you’re focused on a particular activity,
a phone call can surely distract you a lot
and this is the reason why it is high time you hire a secretary to take all your calls.
This would definitely enable you to concentrate better on your work
and you will be able to manage your time in a better way.
the end of the day,
all you’re spending is a small amount of salary on a secretary
but that is surely worth it because you cannot
buy concentration or focus with money.

2. Take some time out for answering all your e-mails.

When you’re busy with your work, if you notice a mail alert,
it is not advisable to directly answer it.
This is because you will again be distracted.
Instead of going back,
spend one hour of time at the end of the day
to answer all mails together.
This way, you will definitely be able to utilize your time well in your office.

Doing 2 things at a time is doing neither!!

3. Come up with a list of things that you need to do

You should not start the day thinking about what to do and when to do.
If you have your to-do list prepared a day before,
you can directly start off with those activities as soon as you reach your office.
This will definitely save a lot of time and your efficiency would also be increased
because when your mind is fresh, you need to pay attention to the work instead of the preparing lists.

4. Finish off the tough tasks first

When you’re brimming with good energy levels,
it is better to focus on the tasks which you really hate to do.
This is because when your energy levels are low towards the end of the day,
you will not be able to take up difficult tasks.
This way, you would definitely postpone those tasks until
a day comes when you’re really ashamed of doing so.
This is the reason why you must ensure that you wash your hands
of the tough tasks as soon as you start your day’s work.

This way, there are quite a lot of office management tips
which you can follow so that you will be able to
boost your productivity at your workplace.
It goes without saying that the aim of any
worker or a businessman would be to achieve more using less resources or time.
To fulfill this, you need to be very smart with the time that you spend in the office.
