KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Interesting how time flew by after my first kidney transplant, the time is now September 2008. I went to the information meeting where you listen to the talk from the surgeon. There were about fifteen to twenty people who were there for the first time. When they found out I was going to be on the list for the second time, there were alot of questions about my kidney transplant . Before you can be put on the transplant list you have to do quite a few things. First you must be evaluated by the social worker, to make sure you are mentally stable. Then you meet with the surgeon to make sure physically you are healthy. There are certain types of medical test that must be performed……

KIDNEY TRANSPLANT TESTING

Like EKG, EEG, tons of blood work. When you are over 50 you must have a colonosposity and in some situations heart catherzation. I didn’t have the heart catherization until 2012. So on the list I go.

I am a Christian. I beleive things happen for a reason. In 2008 things happened to me spiritually and emotionally that I was in a really deep rut, I took my name off the list. Even had my former doctor called  to  talk me back into getting  on the Kidney Transplant list. With everything that was going on my thinking was I can’t afford to have a transplant at this time. You see the business that my husband and I had was about to close. The economy was sucking dry, and our house was on the bank note for the company. From the advise of the companys lawyer, we were told to just file chapter 7, to get rid of all our debt. Since we owed more on our house then what it was worth, we lost it also.

At the time I was going throught this by myself. My husband was so streesed that he actually had a personaly change because of it. It took a heart attack in 2009 to snap him back into reality. Where I am going with this is……I deep down knew that I was never alone. I kept asking God why? What did I do to deserve this? I decided to dig into scripture to find solace.

God will let things happen to what I like to say is “bring you to your senses.” He was still working, but I was about to go through a lot more than what I just went though.

……stay tuned.
