Your Gratitude Is Your Latitude

“Acknowledging the good that it already in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” -Eckhart Tolle

Here’s the thing about gratitude: The more you have, the more you have.

Here’s the thing about most people: They believe “The more you have, the less for me.”

But here’s the truth: Nothing Could Be Further From The Truth.

You can tell a lot about a person (yourself included) by examining their attitude. Do they believe that good things happen to them? Do they feel lucky? Do they believe that everything always works out for (or toward) the greater good?

Or do they think that something always happens to spoil their fun, no matter what? That good things happen to other people, but not to them. That if it weren’t for bad luck, they’d have no luck at all.

It would be easy to make the mistake of thinking “Of course that person is happy, everything good happens to him. Of course that person is negative – nothing good ever happens to him.”

Really, it like this: “Of course good things happen to that person…she’s happy and in gratitude all the time! She’s expecting good things!

The converse is true, as well: “Of course negative things happen to that person…she’s negative and down all the time! She’s anticipating bad things!

There is an easy way to prove what I’m saying for yourself. It’s called making a gratitude list (or a gratitude journal.) It’s easy to do and will improve your life in as short as a week!

Here’s how to do it: Get a journal (or a notebook) and each day – either at days beginning or at days end (whenever you are most likely to do it…consistently) – take a minute and jot down 10 things that you’re grateful for!

(WHAT? You can’t think of 10 things?? OK, start with 5. Start with 3. But START.)

By the time the week is out, you’ll have plenty of things going on your list. You’ll have a hard time stopping at 10.

And here’s the magic: The more time you spend in gratitude for the blessings in your life, the more you will be blessed in your life.

It’s as simple as that. Gratitude opens the path for all abundance to reach you.
But I AM grateful, you say.

Wonderful!

Make sure that you’re recognizing the blessings in your life!

Remember the old story about the man who was stranded on a desert island?  He prayed to God for help and soon after, a rescue boat arrived.

The man, however,  told the rescue team to go away;  he was a believer and  he was sure God would save him.

Some time later, a helicopter flew over and the man told the pilot the same thing: He was a believer and he was sure that God would save him.

The next day a passing boat signaled to the man and he signaled back that he was fine; he was waiting for God to save him.

Of course, after a little while the man died.

Upon his arrival at the pearly gates of heaven,  the man asked God why he had not answered his prayers and saved him.

God replied, “Of course I answered your prayers – I sent a rescue team, a helicopter, a boat….”

Make room for abundance to enter into your life.  Be ready to allow good things to happen to you! Recognize opportunity when it comes your way and grasp it with both hands.

Allow yourself to be in the right place at the right time.

That means, allow yourself to say yes.

Say Yes.

Yes!
