G’day everyone, today i want to discuss Search Engine Optimisation or SEO with you.

If you neglect to use SEO tactics to their fullest, your site will be hard-pressed for visitors.

Here are some tips you can use to get noticed.

• A quick way to give your website a higher search engine ranking is to get a second hand domain name. If your domain name is over two years old, the search engines give it more weight, the older the domain the better the search engines like it.

• Be sure that no matter the age of the domain, it works for your site specifically, make sure the domain name you choose is related to your business or site

• The options for increasing your search engine ranking are large and varied in number,  you will get the best results if your marketing system, is set to achieve the maximum efficiency with searches.

• Select and use your keywords correctly, don’t forget about “off Page” SEO factors, correctly format your Anchor text, Label all images or videos correctly with your keywords and as you improve performance, your users will benefit from a more enjoyable experience.

• Consider asking a website with trusted content to link with your site. Non-profits and educational websites are perfect for this. Search engines look favorably on sites that have been linked to by reputable sources.

• If your site contains information that is useful to readers, reputable websites will want to link to it. Provide the kind of articles and information that reputable organizations find trustworthy.

• Informative sites generally rank higher then product-only sites. A good example of blending the two is by providing the viewer with a short how-to video, or a detailed list of uses for the products that you are offering.

• To hide something, create a robots. txt file and placing it in your computer’s root directory. This will prevent any search engine from being able to gain access to particular files on your site.

• Be careful who you link your site to, especially a site that’s been banned. If you link to a disreputable sites, search engines will not rank your site favorably, and your rankings will drop, meaning you need to be on page one, not page thirty seven, this also has the side effect of translating into less business.

• Think about using relevant keywords. Knowing which keywords to use will help you get the attention you want for your articles. If you find out what keywords will attract people you are winning. Your ranking in the results of search engine queries will be raised when the right keywords on your website have been highlighted.

• Joining organizations like the BBB and your city’s Chamber of Commerce can improve your site’s search engine rankings. Because they usually automatically link to you, this helps with local searches. Additionally, a good Better Business Bureau rating will increase the trust you receive from your prospective customers.

• If you are the webmaster for a business website or even your own website, inform the CEO that he/she or you could attract more traffic to his/her or your business’s website if he/she or you started an interesting blog. Your customers will want to read things that are up to date and very relevant to the business.

• Try to include a keyword or two in your domain name if possible. For example my site is called Contemporary MLM which is also a keyword that people will search on if they want information about modern mlm practices. This can help make it easier for people to find your website. Ads do not give you all of your visitors; some visitors get to your site by looking for products that you might have.

No one wants their business to fail miserably, and many web businesses despite being started with great enthusiasm end in failure. However, this should not discourage you. In fact, these are just a few of the many techniques you can learn to greatly increase your chances of success as a web business.
