Social media has literally taken the world by storm if the numbers on social media are anything to go by. Almost every person who claims to know their way around the internet gets involved in one of the social media options available. It is a common way for people to interact amoung friends but many people have been known to use it to market their businesses as well.
One of the most common social media options that has been gaining popularity by the day is Twitter. This platform basically allows people from different parts of the world to interact without necessarily having to become friends, as is the case with other media platforms.
People on Twitter are basically allowed to follow any person, group or entity that is of interest to them. They also get some of their friends who follow them back though this may not always be the case. Here is a list of what to do when you don’t have any Twitter followers and you are seeking to change that.
1. Be Engaging
Many people or companies are guilty of creating accounts then sitting back and hoping that the followers will come automatically simply because they are interested in the brand. This may be the case for some of the Twitter users who happen to be aggressive. You can start by following people or companies who share the same interest with you. Go ahead and improve activity by engaging your followers and the people you follow. You can do this by retweeting, using mentions, taking part in hashtags and interesting conversations.
2. Market Yourself Aggressively
Many of the companies which happen to have many followers have them mainly because of the fact that they are aggressive. Make sure that all your potential followers are aware of the fact that you have a Twitter handle and that they can follow you by posting the handle on your website or web pages. You can also ask the employees of the company to add Twitter handles to their email signatures and this ensures that all the people they get in touch with are aware of the company.
3. Automate Your Marketing
You may not have all the time in the world to stay active so that people are able to see your tweets all through the day. The good news is that you do not have to! You can simply program your Twitter account so that it is able to carry out some functions automatically. You can program it in such a way that there is a continuous stream of updates al through the week or throughout the day. This will make the account appear more active than it actually is and also give followers the feeling that there is always someone on the other end. Another way to authomate is to buy Twitter followers from a service that will mange your account for you.
4. Post Content That Is Of Value To Followers
A good number of Twitter followers are attracted to quality content and they will also share the same through retweeting thus helping more people get reasons to follow you. Ensure that the content you post is of value to your followers and you will not even need to start fishing for followers. They will flock on their own.
5. Get In On The Trending Topics
Take part in trending topics and most likely some people will also learn about your existence that way. Have an interesting view and this will generate curiosity among users which eventually allows them to follow you.
These are just a few of the ways you can go about increasing the number of followers on Twitter. Go ahead and try them out!
