Reality TV? Or is it? I Want Your Feedback.

Wait. Hold on a sec. I have to stop laughing and try to compose myself.

When Reality Strikes!

I happened to turn on the TV today as I sit in front of my computer and lo and behold it’s the Jerry Springer Show!!!! OMG! My belly hurts from laughing so much. Not because it’s funny but because it is STUPID!

Today’s episode was about this guy who comes on the show professing his love for this “girl” he met at a local club. They got it on he said, but they didn’t have sex – she just gave him oral pleasure. The next thing is you see the “girl” he was talking about backstage. Long story short, the “girl” takes out her fake boobs, takes off her fake eyelashes and fake hair and discloses “I am a man” in a deep voice. Next thing is – they’re in a physical fight on Jerry’s stage. Clothes are being ripped off, water is being thrown. A few wild punches hit home on the bouncers that pretend they are trying to break the “fighters” apart. And the whole time the audience is chanting “Jerry Jerry Jerry” with fists punching the air. Is this hyped up because people WANT to see other people engaged in physical fighting? Is like the reason most people enjoy a hockey game is because they want to see the players get involved in a knock-down drag-out fight? And what about the show they had on years ago (I think it was banned from daytime hours and was only allowed to be aired late night) where a guy comes out on stage with his pony and confesses he has sex with the pony! Ugh! This is making me sick. I guess the “guy” can truthfully say that he had “the ride of his life”!  Oh, it’s lonesome in the saddle.  lol

Are these “paid actors” or whatever they are, proud of the crap and embarrassment they put out to the world? Would you do that? Do you think these people are looking to become celebrities? I just really question how anyone wastes their time promoting this stuff. Yeah. I can see me running into the guy that loves his pony. Next thing you hear over the intercom “Clean up on Aisle 4!” as I exit the store.

Let me set the record straight. I can’t stand Jerry Springer and I more than can’t stand his show. #1 I heard that most of what occurs on his show is staged. #2 Why oh why does anyone waste their time on watching this garbage? I turned it off within 5 minutes. This to me is a waste of air space. What do you think?

When Reality Strikes Again….

Ok. Let’s move on to the WWF. I can’t understand why there is such a fan following of this “other” fake fighting! Their punches are fake. They make all the noise with their feet. Why does this attract so many followers? Would someone please clarify this?

Other reality shows. I mean, c’mon. How many do we need? This is like a round robin of Jaws or Rocky. We have: Real Housewives of Atlanta. Real Housewives of Jersey. Real Basketball Wives. Hoggers. Lady Hoggers. Storage Wars. Storage Wars Texas. Why don’t we just have a public access show for every city in America? Why should a select few share the airwaves?

Let’s take some suggestions here of what YOU think we should have as a reality show. How about: “Real Government and How They Screw Us Taxpayers”? Or “How Our Government Screws the Poor and Makes the Rich, Richer”? Or how about “How Our Corrupt Government Breeds Corrupt Politicians”? To me, politicians are like diapers. They both need to be changed and for the same reasons. Coz they’re full of crap! C’mon! Give me your opinions!

Now I will admit that there are some reality shows that I DO like. Dancing with the Stars; American Idol; X Factor. These shows depict real people that are trying to better themselves and also stepping out of their comfort zone and their own fears to show that they can accomplish things that they never thought were possible. Gold Rush Alaska – going after the American dream. Makes me want to go and join them.

Reminds me of people that have dreams of owning their own business and taking charge of their own destiny. Most are fearful of venturing into the unknown. Afraid of failing. But you know the old saying: “Nothing ventured, nothing gained”. Even if by chance you do fail, at least you can look back and say to yourself “You know what? I tried. At least I tried” instead of reaching old age always wondering “What if? Why didn’t I just give it a chance?”

So let’s get to the REAL reality. Let’s not be fake about it and let’s not pull any fake punches. If you have that desire, that dream – go for it. What’s the worst that can happen? If you fail, you at least had the courage and the guts to give it a try. Hold your head up and be proud of yourself.

P.S. I gotta go get some popcorn so I can watch the Steve Wilkos show! lol NOT!!!!!!!!
