Dachshunds
Dachshunds,Weiner Dogs,Doxins, they have several names! They are small dogs that are long with short little legs, and long noses, some are long hair some are short hair. Some are red, some are brown and some are brown, so I thought until I found Gemma. She is a different kind of Doxin. She is called a Piebald Dachshunds Dog. She looks like a Beagle but long hair with short legs and a long body. I had never seen a Dog like that before, so I looked it up online and found it to be true, and very expensive.
Dachshunds On The Farm
Dachshunds on or farm, 5 years ago I was working for a company that had In-home care and I had an employee that raised mini Dachshunds, she had a litter of Dachshunds puppies, she came to me one day and asked me if I would like to buy one, of course I would love to but, could not afford one at the moment, well come to find out that she really needed hay for her horses too, so she made me an offer she would give me a Dachshund puppy for some hay. Of course I had to ask Russ and he said no he did not want a small dog, we can’t have small dogs on a ranch they would get hurt he would say. So I went to work the next day and said no we can’t have a small dog sorry, but we can sell you some hay. Her and I worked up a story to tell Russ that she was going out of town and needed a Dachshund sitter for the weekend, so I took the Dachshund puppy home for the weekend and of course if you have ever seen a Dachshund puppy you would immediately fall in love the minute you seen her. Monday came around and I went back to work and told my employee that our plan worked and I am a proud new owner of the cutest puppy in the world and we would give her hay for her horses for the puppy. That is how we got Abby who by the way is Russ’s Baby now!
Dachshunds
Two years ago, I decided that Abby needed a little sister or brother to play with so I looked in the paper and I found a lady selling Mini Dachshunds in a small town just north of us, so I made an appointment and went up there the next day and picked out a puppy. I thought to myself I don’t think these are Mini Dachshunds but I will take your word for it, they were so cute. I got the runt of the litter. We had Jax for about 1 week and he wouldn’t gain any weight, so I took him into the Vet and they weren’t sure what was wrong with him. He weighed 1 pound. After a couple more days we had to take him back in and after some blood work we found out that his shunt to his liver did not open when he was born and so blood was not getting to his liver and he was slowly dying of liver failure, we had to have him put to sleep. That was very hard even for just having him a little while that little baby stole our heart. I called the lady that we bought him from and told her what happened and she was heartbroken, she said that if we wanted we could come to town and pick out a new puppy, so the next day I went back and picked out a new puppy and found Gemma, she was a chunky little girl. She is my baby girl. We never thought we would ever have little Dachshunds dogs in our lives, but they have become the biggest part of our lives. They have such different personalities, and are so funny they make us laugh everyday. They are the most loving dogs in the world.
