Who are the Naked Hippies?

We’re Bruce and Trisha, of the Naked Hippies Road Trip!

Nah, we’re not driving down the road in full monty mode, but we do get naked sometimes , . . . we are just a couple of ol’ hippies . . . and we’re on the most fantastic road trip ever –

it’s called living your dream!

We love to tell the story of us. It never gets old!

Two words that perfectly describe our life are serendipitous synchonicities. We met by chance and ever since that moment, all that has transpired testifies that dreams do come true . . . life is just beginning . . . the journey is magical!

We met online. Yep! Bruce clicked on my profile, read what I wrote and immediately sent me a message to check what his profile said. Our stories were nearly word-for-word the same. The magic begins!

We both were raised in small towns, where you rode your bikes all over town, the movie theatre had a balcony that was off limits unless you were on a date, the local drug store sold cherry or chocolate or vanilla fountain cokes, the ambulance was provided by the funeral parlor, the mosquito fogger made its rounds on summer nights, you went to church every Sunday, and everyone knew your parents.

We had similar childhoods, but there was no similarity to our adult lives.

Trisha says: When we met, I was still living in that small town – had recently divorced and was finally beginning to discover dreams and yearnings that pushed beyond the city limits. Bruce, on the other hand, had been all over the world! I learned that he had been to Alaska and Japan and Cuba and Hawaii and Grand Cayman, that he had circumnavigated the eastern half of the US on a six month bicycle journey, that he had lived in Key West and Arizona and DC and Arkansas and Louisiana . . . and my heart told me, “you have much to learn from this man!”

Bruce says: I had been all over the world only to find the girl I had been searching for all my life in my own backyard!

We started our relationship as friends. We didn’t meet in person for almost a year. By the time we met face to face, we knew everything about each other – we had shared so much through emails and phone calls. And when we met face to face, we knew the serendipitous synchronicities that had occurred over time had merged our paths into one.

Trisha says: I wasn’t going to get married again.
Bruce says: I wasn’t going to get married again.

We were married on September 21, 2007 at our hippie wedding in the woods!

Trisha says: Bruce colored my black and white world. I had never really ventured out of my comfort zone. He introduced me to tent camping and nature and freedom and fun. I was hungry for adventure!

Bruce says: Trisha colored my black and white world. I had never really had someone who shared my dreams, loved new experiences and held the same positive outlook on all the possibilities life has to offer.

We began dreaming of the life we wanted to create – a life of freedom, living and traveling full time in a RV. Camping was our all-time favorite activity and we spent nearly every weekend packing up the car with the tent and sleeping bag to head to the woods. When we were faced with renewing the lease on our duplex for another year, we just couldn’t lock our lives in that way – for ever since the dream began, we were preparing to be ready when the moment to GO arrived. So, we camped for four months in our tent on the banks of the Missouri River.

What a glorious, blissful summer that was. It was the most inspiring, relaxing, restorative experience we have ever had. The campground owners liked us so much they asked us to work as camp hosts. You can read more of that story in our free e-book “We Did It – You Can Too.”

It’s been 3 1/2 years of adventure! We have traveled to Key West, Miami, Sedona, Phoenix, DC, Hot Springs, Branson, Memphis.

We have camped and lived on the banks of the Missouri River where the sunrises and sunsets give a glimpse of heaven, where the coyotes and owls and frogs serenade us at night, where the real “river rats” exemplify a simple, honest life, where we meet people from all walks of life who love nature and travel as we do, where life keeps getting better and better each day.

What’s you dream?  We’d love to hear it!  We’d love to help you begin living that dream now.  Let’s get you started on YOUR road trip . . .

We have a huge bucket list of places and people we long to meet. Our home on wheels provides a haven of happiness and peace. The journey has just begun.
