When life gets to you, when the stress from work, family, the economy, business, and even vacations get to be too much . . . and especially during the holidays . . . one is ALL. Let me explain.
Do one thing today to make a difference . . .
Make a difference in someone’s life:
Smile at one person – really smile – make eye contact with the person.
Thank the clerk at the grocery store for being a wonderful help to you.
Send a note to a friend you haven’t seen for a while.
Buy lunch for a co-worker.
Tell your spouse I love you often, but also tell them why you love them.
Give a generous tip to the waitress who pleasantly served you.
Hug someone . . . hugs are healing.
Compliment someone on their hair, their shoes, their eyes . . . anything!
Let another car ease into traffic in front of you, or the woman with a cart full of groceries and tired kids go in front of you.
Read a book to your grandchild.
Make a difference in YOUR life:
Choose one thing on your to-do list and DO IT!
Learn a new skill.
Read for pleasure.
Spend time out in nature – take a walk, sit under the stars.
Write a gratitude list.
Be still.
One thing is all you need to do to make a difference . . . one day at a time, one hour at a time, one moment at a time.
You can’t do everything. You can’t save the whole world. But, you can make a difference in one life today.
And that’s enough.
One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast withers as rapidly;
and that which grows slow endures. ~ J G Holland
