Local Takeover: Restoring The Precinct

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

By Alex Snitker

The precinct is the key to liberty. During my time in the Marine Corps it was commonly said that “every Marine is a rifleman.” How is this concept the key to success in the Liberty movement?

We all bring different skills to the table for Liberty. That’s why it is so vital that when we support a candidate we do all we can to influence our local precincts.

This is the prime area of concern for the individual members of Liberty Takeover 2012. Here is where you get involved:

If you want sign up and Restore your precinct contact Alex at (727) 424-9530 or email at alex@libertytakeover2012.com

Who should I contact first?

Everyone. Unfortunately, one person does not have the resources or time to call every single person in your precinct, so we will begin with focusing on a few specific groups. Your goal should be to contact all super voters, regardless of party, all Libertarian and Constitution party members and any identified liberty minded individuals. You will be handing out a flyer (provided by us) and getting our candidates petitions signed. When making initial contact, feel people out. Your goal is to spread information about Liberty, collect and confirm the contact information on the voters and and find 10 volunteers to help with precinct walks.

It is time to get friendly with the neighbors.

You and your precinct team will eventually make a face to face contact with everyone in your precinct. You are also going to host a precinct-wide meeting. This meeting should happen within 90 days from the assignment of the precinct. This meeting is where you’ll further explain Liberty Takeover 2012 and why they should get involved, too.

You will explain the impact of voting locally and go over precinct numbers and statistics. You will talk about our process for choosing candidates and make clear what we are looking for in candidates. There will be

some philosophical discussion here, but the main focus will be to illustrate how we will restore our Republic – one precinct at a time.

Communication with precinct is the key.

You will be given access to our software package that you will use to manage the precinct. We will be providing you a pre-filled database with information on all registered voters in your precinct. You will be contacting only super voters, initially.

When asked by a new contact what kind of group are we your answer is, ” We are friends and neighbors who want to be more aware of how our community is being run – and who’s running it!.”

Your first goal is simple – to give this information to super voters in your precinct. Not everyone will be interested, but do engage those who are and invite them to the meeting.

Your second goal is to identify potential volunteers and sign up 10 for future precinct walking.

Liberty Takeover 2012 wants this process to be as quick and painless as possible. We all have families and jobs, too, and we understand that this seems like a big undertaking. WIll you be the one to get the ball rolling in your neighborhood?

In Liberty,
