Most of the time when you hear of the term ‘guilty by association’ you start to think of an episode on the ID channel, Investigation Discovery, and how someone did something horrible and because you were there when the crime was committed it makes you just as guilty as the person that committed the crime.
Well in this case I’m talking about the people you choose to surround yourself with. Why? Because the people you surround yourself with has a profound impact on your personal success.
You are the average of your 5 closest friends.
Ask yourself:
Who are they?
What do they do with their lives?
How ambitious are they, how successful have they been, how happy, optimistic, and enthusiastic are they?
Do they fan your flame?
If you are not where you want to be right now in your life it may be time to start rethinking who you hang out with.
Eliminating people from your life is sometimes not any easy thing to do. Feelings of guilt sometimes follow, or for at least myself they did, but you have to think of how you want your life to be and think about the people in your life. If they aren’t supporting you in your decisions for living a better life and encouraging you to do so, then they are probably holding you back.
You will find that there are a lot of people that are okay with living a mediocre life, and that’s okay if that’s what they want to do, but I’m here to tell you that if you want to live a great life, you can.
The only thing you need to do in order to create a great life for yourself is…
