What The Heck is a Three Way Call?
When it comes to doing a three way call with your upline to a prospective recruit, there are some rules you need to follow. Ray Higdon did a post today on 3-way calls and it includes a full blown step-by-step tutorial. Here’s a short and quick summary on this subject from a different perspective.
If you’re a newbie, you’re probably wondering what is a 3-way call. Well, read on and it will be crystal clear to you by the end of this short article.
A 3-way call is simply a way to turn the conversation over to someone else that can give your prospect a different perspective, share their story, and answer any additional questions they may have.
Why would you want to turn the call over to someone else? Because honestly, it’s not just about you. You have your story, and your upline has theirs. Often times it puts your prospect at ease hearing a different point of view. And if your upline has been around for a while and they’re successful, they will know how to handle certain questions you may fumble on, and often times they’re capable of closing your prospect on the spot. Using a three way call is good for everyone, no matter what level you’re at, but they’re invaluable for newbies.
Techie Stuff
BTW – before you start making 3-way calls, make sure you know how to make one on your phone. Here’s how to make a 3-way call on your iPhone, Blackberry, and Smartphone.
When To Use A Three Way Call
The best time to use a 3-way call is after you sent you prospect to an exposure. You either sent them to a website, had them dial a sizzle call, or you mailed them an audio or a dvd. There are various ways to expose your prospect to your opportunity, use the one that you’re comfortable with, or one that your company recommends.
Follow Up A Must Before A Three Way Call
This is crucial before you schedule a 3-way call with your upline. You want to make sure that the person watched the presentation and are familiar with your opportunity. When you follow up and they didn’t see the presentation, scheduling a 3-way call with your upline is a waste of your time and theirs. Send your prospect back to the presentation and follow up accordingly.
Getting a Yes To A Three Way Call
Yes, there is a wrong way to set this up, and the right way. You want to make this transition a pleasant one. Ever buy a car from a dealership and the salesperson keeps going back and forth to the manager to negotiate the price? After you go back and forth for an hour, they finally say… “Let me bring my manager to the table.” Don’t you just feel like getting up and leaving? Yeah, well don’t do that to your 3-way.
Three Way Call Edification, The Right Way
Be consistent when you edify your upline or the leader you’re bringing on the call. Most rookies praise the person, make them sound like a Greek God, and then they introduce them like this, “What’s up dude! Hey man, thanks for taking our call I got Danny here on the line and I told him you’re like the coolest dude!” And here’s the best part, “Danny, I want you to meet Mr. Tanner.” Did you catch that? Whether you did or not, before you go, comment and share your thoughts below. Your next step is to read Ray Higdon’s step-by-step three way call tutorial.
