F=Female
This script is meant to be read slowly and with intensity.
F: Open up and show me your soul
M: You don’t want that
F: I know you already. I always have. When we met I saw your fire and it consumed me, I saw your pain and it was my pain, there is nothing of you that is not a part of me.
M: Leave now, run! Because if you stay another moment I won’t let you go.
She reaches out her hand to him. He grasps it pulling her close.
M: (Rasping) You have damned us both
He searches her eyes
F: If this is damned then I pity those in heaven. what I feel for you should make even the angels shall weep with envy.
He crushes her lips to his, she moans the screen goes black.
Rain falls her clothing is torn her feet are bare, wet she shivers the screen shows she is battered and bleeding her face is bruised she looks like she has not eaten or slept in days. She falls people pass until we see a something being put on her a blanket or a cloak and then we see his face.
She wakes warm in a bed wearing lingerie/night gown. She sees him, his back is to her she studies him, he turns and their eyes meet as the fire crackles between them.
M: are you warm enough
F: Yes, thank you
M: Should I take you to the hospital?
F: Please don’t!
M: Are you a fugitive?
F: No… but…
He raises his eyebrow but says nothing.
F: I will go, I am so sorry for having troubled you.
M: It has started snowing, and you have no shoes.
F: Please, I cannot go to the hospital!
He considers for a moment
M: Are you a thief?
F: No
M: A murderer?
F: No
M: A con artists?
F: No!
M: A liar
F: Yes.
M: Then you shall stay… at least for a little while.
F: But… I can’t!
M: Oh?
F: You don’t understand, they will kill you if they find me here!
M: Then we should not let them find you.
F: They will punish you if they discover you helped me!
M: They can try.
F: You don’t even know who they are!
M: No I do not, but in time perhaps you will tell me.
He touches her face tenderly then leaves and she is left pondering in a moment we see her grab tight the sheets in fear as we hear a noise only to learn it was only the fire.
Screen goes black.
This is the beginning of something… Not sure where it is going but it will tell me when it is ready.
