In part 2 of Tony Robbins Ultimate Edge review, I mentioned how Tony argues that our decisions create the experiences of our lives.
In part 3, Tony talks about what controls our decisions.
The answer, STATE!
In ultimate edge, Tony says that The STATE you’re in determines the decisions you’re going to make.
Conditioning your body and mind to be in the best state most of the times is the first step to change.
The 2nd thing that affects our decision making is our life’s blueprint. In other words, the way we look at life determines what we’re even willing to consider.
In ultimate edge, Tony says that we have beliefs about how life is supposed to be or how people are supposed to treat us. Some of the points he raises are….
Do you see life as a test or do you see life as sacred?
How would you treat life based on what you believe it is?
What if you had a believe that life is a party or a dance?
So, how do you know what your blueprint is? To find what what your blueprint is, all you need is to find out what motivates you, What makes you tick or what makes you feel alive.
When things are the way our blueprint says it should be, we are happy. When things conflict with what our blueprint says they should be, we experience pain and unhappiness.
Therefore, sometimes what we really need to do is not change “things” or circumstances but change our blueprint. For example, if your blueprint says you people are supposed to always be kind and respectful to you, you will experience pain whenever someone acts unkindly or disrespectfully towards you.
But you can change that blueprint by choosing to believe that some people will be unkind and disrespectful to you regardless of how hard you try. In that case, when someone is unkind to you, you don’t take it personally and you don’t experience pain or unhappiness except maybe momentarily.
In ultimate edge, Tony argues that whenever you blame something or someone else for not having what you need or not being where you should be, you relinquish the power to create the change to the event or the person.
But blaming yourself isn’t the answer either. Blaming yourself is equal to beating yourself up. What you need to do is simply take responsibility without beating yourself up.
If you don’t like your body, if you don’t like your business, if you don’t like your job, if you don’t like something in your life… CHANGE IT. You have what it takes to create change in a moment.
Get focused and get clear on what you really want and go for it. That’s what gives you that ultimate edge, Tony says.
There are things you will never be able to change. For example. If you’re 50 yrs old, you can’t look 30 yrs. You have to get comfortable with being your age by changing your blueprint. If you think you should always look like you’re 30, you’re going to be miserable for the rest of your life.
Changing your blueprint is sometimes necessary in order for you to be happy.
The Ultimate edge in life is having emotional fitness, Psychological strength and the certainty that you can DO IT.
