SEO or search engine optimization is one of the essential elements that make up a good blog. Through power search engine optimization, a blog can generate a lot of traffic from search engines which could then lead to tons of conversions. If you don’t have a specific SEO strategy then most likely, you will not be able to get lots of traffic from search engines such as Google. Though search engines are not the only source of traffic, it is still important that you do at least a few SEO tweaks here and there on your site.

So what’s a search engine optimization strategy?

A SEO strategy is a well-defined plan that contains steps by which you utilize high value keywords in order to get traffic to your website.

Below are some tips on how you could have a better chance at SEO. Each tip is essential for your website to be found by search engine spiders.

1. Make sure that you put the keywords on your title

The title of your blog post is one of the things that search engine spiders usually pick up and determine what your website is all about. It is important that your title shouldn’t be too long so that search engine spiders to easily index it and not too short which makes it less appealing to your readers.

2. Put your keywords in subheadings

Within your article, it is important that you put your keywords in subheadings or set them as H1 to H3 tags. By doing this, it makes it a lot easier to index your blog post. However be careful in using subheadings as they might distort the quality of your article. Not only the on the content aspect but also on the aesthetic aspect. 3. Have an appropriate keyword density

Keyword density is how much you use a certain keyword or keyword phrases within your article. The problem is, some newbie bloggers abuse the keywords too much that it sacrifices the quality of their articles. This might have worked before but with the new Google update, this too much use of keywords is not practical anymore simply because Google’s search engine spiders won’t index those articles that use too much keywords that makes the article appear difficult to read.

4. Make sure you put your keywords on the first sentence of your article

In order to effectively use your keywords on the first sentence of your article, you could change it a bit into a question or a tagline. Usually, prominent bloggers would convert the first sentence in either a H1 or H2 tag depending on how it will look like on their blog site.

5. Put photos on your blog post and use ‘alt tags’

Photos could also be used on your blog post for SEO purposes. In order to do this, change the file name of the photo that you want to upload on your post with the keyword that you want to use. Once you’ve done that, make sure that you change the alt-tag name into your keyword. By doing this, you can add more SEO elements on your blog post making it easier for search engine spiders to index your post.
