Isaac Is Going To Washington DC

we are going to the White House

My son Isaac is going to Washington DC this Memorial Day weekend. Isaac is going with his 4th grade AAU basketball team. I have never been to DC before and I have been about 20 miles away. I was in Quantico ,Virginia and didn’t have time to go the 20 minutes to DC.

But that won’t be the case for Isaac , he will be able to go to Washington and enjoy a little of the city. He will be playing basketball so he will be in the gym most of the time. But the team has plans to have a fun weekend around the tournament. Isaac is going to Washington DC on the bus.

The whole Team Teague is going to the tournament. The 4th, 5th,6th and 7th grade teams are going. I think this is the first time that all the teams are going to the same place at the same time. This is a big tournament and Team Teague wanted to represent Indianapolis and show how good the kids in Indiana can play.

The 4th grade team Isaac plays on came in 8th place last year at Nationals and should have done better. But this year the team is better and they will show how good they are this weekend.

We will see The White House In Washington DC

I was so excited when I heard that the kids were going to the White House. I was disappointed when the coach told me that the parents weren’t going to be able to go to see the President. I don’t think he will be at the White House. I know the kids would be real excited if he was there, but they will be happy to go anyway.

I do know we will see the White House in Washington DC when we are in DC. I wanted to go ,but the coach said we couldn’t get clearance. I thought how many of us would be able to get in anyway. I know I have a criminal record, (Nothing violent) so I wouldn’t be able to go inside . Hopefully I’m wrong and this is not case because I would love to go to the White House and see the President.

The kids are ready to win the tournament and are coming off winning the last 4 tournament they have played. So when we go there we are looking to make it 5 in a row. A championship and a visit to the White House and all the other monuments  is a really big thing to my son. He is just in the 4th grade has been since he was in kindergarten. I can just imagine the doors that will be open for him as he gets older. And going to DC is a life experience he will never forget.
