Live your life for you and stop worrying about other people think

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

The one thing that we do as adults do is, we are so worried about what people think, that we live our lives trying to live up to the standards of what we think they will approve. We try so hard to make ourselves look good in the eyes of the people around us, that most of us don’t know who we are. We still act like we are still in high school. We act like we want to be “most popular”,”best dressed”,”most liked” all the things that school has to offer but school is over and for many of us it’s been over 10-15 years. We constantly worry about the images that we put out for people to see. I’m here to tell you that is not the way to live your life. Letting the thoughts that are in someone elses head run your life. The thoughts and images that you have of yourself should be the only thing that should matter. yet we let thoughts of others shape the way we think of ourselves. we constantly live up to their expectations and not the expectations that we have for ourselves. one thing that we can do is focus on what is important to us, and find something that you can be passionate about and do that. dream bigger dreams, make bigger goals, goals that make you happy and its not because someone will see you and it will make you look good. do things that if no one knew you did it, it would still make you happy. I know that we always say “i don’t care what people think or say about me” but we all know that we are telling a lie. I say all of this to say care more about what you think, do the things that make YOU happy and have FUN, LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST
