Race car drivers are not suppose to be scared. They are suppose to get in the car and drive every week. DALE EARNHARDT JR is a no exception but 3 weeks ago he did something no other driver would have done. He took himself out of the car for 2 weeks and he was in the running for the CHAMPIONSHIP. I don’t think any other driver would have considered doing this. He was criticized for taking the 2 weeks off during the Race For The Cup.
Getting a concussion in a car going over 150 mph is something we never think. This is what Dale Jr faced 3 weeks ago. He made the decision to not race in 2 races during the middle of an important time in the season. Any other driver would have got back in his car the next week, and that might not have been smart move but Dale Jr said he was not going for that.
Dale Jr is the son of a famous driver Dale Sr., who was killed in 2001. Dale Sr was killed in the Dayton 500 and it was on live TV. The whole racing nation saw it and were in shock as the 7 time champion hit the wall and it ended his life. People were wondering if that was on his mind.
Being DALE EARNHARDT JR. is not easy. People want to see him do the same things his father did. He has to win the same as his father. I know that has to be some serious pressure on him. But he has performed well in the last few years. His wins have been far and few in between but he is still relevant in racing.

Most of the time you see an athlete, you see them at work and you don’t get to see them at home. But we got to see DALE EARNHARDT JR.,THE MAN grow u before our very eyes. Dale Sr was one of the most popular race car drivers ever and his son was in the spot light. I know most father son combo’s don’t get to play or in this case race together. You can see it in baseball and it has happened a couple of times. In stock car driving it has a lot of family drivers. Father-son or Brother and Brother or even cousins.
After his father died Dale Jr had a tough battle with his dads wife over the family company. It was a bitter battle over who should take over the company now that Dale Sr. was dead.I think it took a toll on Dale Jr and it made him loose focus on racing . His step-mother didn’t want to give him control of the company, even though his name was on the wall. I know that would be a hard pill to swallow. A lady that is not my mother and she is trying to take a company that your dad built and it has your name, that would not make me happy at all.

Dale is a good driver and has on several races. But the biggest thing that will always hang over his head like a sack of potatoes is his father. DALE EARNHARDT JR, THE DRIVER is nothing like his father, he is a driver that doesn’t have the temper that his father had. His father had a bad temper when he was on the track and if you did something to him on the track you would have to pay dearly. Dale Jr is not that type of driver, but he still has that Earnhardt in him where if you mess with him you will get dealt with. He is still one of the most popular drivers on and off the track.
He has used his success on the track to get him fame off the track as well. He does commercials and cameo’s in movies. So it is safe to say the driver has had much success on the race track and off. DALE EARNHARDT JR. is a household name and not just because of his name he has earned it.
