It Takes All Kinds I’ve Found Some Sweet Spots Along My Way!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

For today’s ledger, “it takes all kinds” will be referring to “sweet spots”.  I really like the term “sweet spot”.  It seems I am not alone.  It also seems there is no one right way to think of a sweet spot, so hopefully I will be able to use it on many different occasions and simply enjoy it however comes to my mind.

One particularly interesting way I’ve just seen it used is in thinking about it while referencing the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears!  Were you to participate in that well loved fairy tale, you would want your porridge “just right” would you not?  That just brought to my mind a great book my brother in law wrote that he entitled Stories for the Inner Ear. The main character was going through one of those unwelcome life changes we likely all experience at some point in our lives when every thing we thought was finally well ordered and secure is suddenly in jeopardy

He wasn’t thinking about anything as a sweet spot, but if he had he would have been pleased to know there was such a thing as a sweet spot out there available for him, somewhere, sometime soon.  I won’t be telling his story just now; but rather referring to  p.149, Ch  8, making Mountains out of Ant Hills (yeah, you read that right) will set the background for my fitting “sweet spots” to my first utilization.

I do believe you and your families would enjoy this remarkable book “Stories for the Inner Ear”,  you can obtain it easily through Amazon, .  This is really a composite of eleven short stories encased within a novel.  Making Mountains out of Ant Hills is absolutely delightful on many levels.

Hold on to the seat of your pants.  This could be a wild ride in patches and as you might have guessed we are talking about you.  Well, you and me.

Have you ever thought much about what your life could be like if you had a special capacity to know the thoughts of those around you?  If you remember the movie Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt were in called What Women Want (2000) you may remember some of the troubles Mel’s character, Nick, enjoyed after zapping himself with a hair dryer in a bathtub fall.  There are definitely humorous (and greed ridden) ways to play the notion but consider the everyday human casualties.  For myself, I know being such an individual, I could invoke hell upon another individual all by lonesome with layers of thoughts.  Sure, I’ve heard tell we can only think one thought at a time — but I’m sure they haven’t tested all of us with that standard.

And if you couldn’t shut it off?  For those who can only handle so much chatter, imagine!  Eventually you might want to escape humankind altogether.

Then, you’d be hoping for sweet spots for sure.

Well, I’ve been “efforting” too long on the web, to not have picked up a few things that have acted as “sweet spots” for me.  Watch for me to share some of those soon.

BTW — you’ll want to have your own blog by then.  Go here for it:
