My New Year’s 2013 Perspective

In 2010, I got a degree but after getting my 1st real job, I found out I didn’t know much. The year of inexperience.

Similar inexperience helped lead to heartbreak in 2011. This acted as a catalyst to deepen character, and be stronger instead of actually breaking. The year of reflection, change and reassembly.

In 2012, the pieces came back together. There were excellent opportunities and everywhere I looked, I could find good like-minded people. Building plans were drafted, the foundation was set. While digging, a latent passion was unearthed…a passion to help others be better. It was the year of a dream.

2013, I have been waiting for you. Please step into my office. From now on, you shall be known as “GameChanger”.

2012 is gone. By tomorrow, it will be the equivalent a being 1000 years of history. Whether 1 second, minute, day, month or year, the past will remain forever closed to you. No worries, no regrets, no wishes and prayers can change anything about it. Yet, it remains God’s greatest educator if true reflection is applied to the experience stored in memory.

I wish you all safe celebrations tonight, and a Happy New Year and SUCCESS in 2013. And before or after the partying and celebration that I will also be doing with friends tonight, take a moment to reflect on 2012. Give thanks for both the good and the bad that happened in the past year. Failure only exists when you stop trying. Until then, it is necessary feedback.
