Arabic Bellydance

I Love to Dance Arabic Bellydance

I’m hoping the title piques your interest enough to question my motives as a mother, an educator,an interpreter and a Creative Director, working together with my husband (maybe he has two brains) and to read the story behind the title.
BellydanceI started my Bellydance classes suddenly – typically for me to decide to do things suddenly. In some Bellydance classes,I’ve heard you start moving the instant you get in the door and don’t stop until the end of the hour. In others, you spend a lot of time standing still while you learn finger cymbal rhythms, wait for the teacher to correct other students, listen to explanations or do stretches at the end of class.

Bellydance for fun

I practice at home as well early in the morning before the shower. When practise at home, I get maximum weight loss benefit by using either drum solos, medium-speed, or fast music and incorporating a large number of moves that engage the legs and hips. Connecting the plasma TV with my laptop and the sound system makes me feel much better and different… so positive energy all day….Before I start working again in front of my computer with 4 screens.
If weight loss is a priority for you, choose a bellydance teacher or class format that keeps you moving continuously throughout the class time. The class will be especially valuable if it involves travelling steps, because moving the large leg muscles burns more calories than moving other, smaller muscles such as those used in head slides. The time I spend in class or practicing at home doesn’t count for weight loss if I am standing still a large part of it.

My advice: spend at least 30 minutes on vigorous bellydance or dancing to drum solos and fast music, then take however much additional time you wish for slow music and finger cymbal practice.
