Fire in our souls to do what is right. Num. 14 – Anyone over 20 was not able to enter the promise land except Joshua and Caleb. The others died due to their unbelief and unfaithfulness.
Ch. 4:1 – A promise remains, a rest we should strive for: To learn the arguments.
Therefore, connects Chapter 4 with Chapter 3
Let us fear – To maintain faith vs.2
Gospel simply means Good news.
They heard the good news, the rest. If you didn’t profit, it was not mixed with faith.
Beware not to fall with those they do not believe.
We mist not waver. Vs. 2 says we must rest. God planned for Christians to have rest, peace. Even though it was offered, they did not take it.
He offered it to the ones going to the promised land. Even though just the young ones went in. What about those who entered the promised land?
Vs. 7 After today you will be given rest. Psalm 95
Vs. 8 Joshua – King James is Jesus, Greek word is same as Joshua. In context, it should be Joshua, who lead them.
The promise was not fullfilled in the Israelites. Verse 3-6 It wasn’t fulfilled when David spoke. Vs. 7-8
Rest was ready since creation.
Some must tend to that rest.
Israelite’s did not enter that rest. The rest remains in verse 9.
What is the punishment?
Trying to keep Jesus faithful, What is their motivation? Rest?
Verse 13: Why is it worth it to them?
You need to stay faithful – look forward to rest – desire it.

What are you willing to sacrifice? Willing to give?
The rest remains. Know where you can reap your blessings. Rst is ” a cessation from labor.”
Rest means we can stop working. Ready? When does God judge us?
Find rest: Believe, Repent, Confess, Be Baptized and Be faithful to God.
