Notes from Ronald’s Morning Sermon on 5-19-13
Decision to do nothing?
A very important part of our lives is to make decisions.
Whether we succeed or fail, or strong or weak. Or weather we loose out on opportunities.
We have to examine situations. Weigh options. Balance?
How quickly?
Look in the scriptures. Good or not good decisions. Understand how important decision making is.
See the decisions made in the Bible:
1. Adam and Eve Gen. 3:1-13
Continue to make bad decisions. Then through their children.
2. Cain in Gen. 4:1-10
One bad decision that snowballed to another. All connected together.
3. Ahab – I Kings 16 and 21
The bad decision was married a wicked women. In verse 31 she turned to idolatry
Chapter 21:1 Acing like a baby.
Verse 7 of Chapter 22 is Lead away to idolatry.
4. Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-13)
Take inheritance early and live on his own. In verse 13 of wasted money. Then down to feeding pigs from bad decisions.
Good Decisions: See the contrast to get good results from good decisions.
1. Moses (Heb. 11:23-27) Also had a bad decision in Numbers 20:1-12
2. Joshua (Joshua 24:15-24) Stay true to his house
3. Solomon ( I Kings 3:5-9) Of he was going to be King, he needs to have wisdom. God was pleased. In verse 13, Gave him riches and honor and all that he could ask for anyways.
4. Prodigal son. (Luke 15:17-20) Even though he was suffering, he made a decision to go back. Happy to return home.
Remember all of them did make bad decisions.
Moses did bad speaking to the rock and didn’t give credit to God.
Numbers 20:1-12 So Moses couldn’t enter the promise land. Joshua did.
Joshua was bad in Joshua 9 – Gibeonites see what Israelite’s are doing in verse 4 worked craftily to be ambassadors.
Made peace in verse 15, 16 Covenant of Peace. He should have prayed to God.
Solomon’s bad was in 1st Kings 11:1-8
Prodigal son’s bad decision was in Luke 11-13
No matter how strong we are spiritually, we make mistakes. Carefully weigh decisions. Foresee consequences.
Our Decisions:
1. Don’t make them suddenly. It can affect our daily life. Sometimes it doesn’t just effect us. It effects those around us. Realize it’s not just us.
2. Examine all sides carefully. Ever write the pros and cons down. Weigh the good and bad. Whenever we make a decision, always good and bad come from it. We have to decide, is it worth it?
May not always be good choice from the bad come from it. We have to decide, is it worth it?
It may not always be good choice from the bad that comes from it.
Go ahead and decide! Wouldn’t you ever et anything accomplished?
Do what you believe is the right thing to do. Every decision may not always be the right thing.
If we make a bad decision, we have to live with it.
Move on, and accept it. Most important, are you a Christian?

God left it up to us to decide. He doesn’t force us to do something.

Jesus is there knocking on the door. It’s our choice to open the door and allow him to come in.
I Kings 18:21 How long do you falter between two decisions. If you believe, Christ died for you, follow him.
