When you are in the struggle big or small, the lesson is not always obvious<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sometimes we have to look for it, sometimes we are not aware of the lesson until we are through the struggle.<\/p>\n

Turning the lessons we do learn from the struggle into stepping stones on our journey creates a powerful perspective switch. That perspective switch is taking the focus from into struggle or adversity and onto the journey itself\u2026. forward into where we are going.<\/p>\n

As some struggles will no doubt be a simple stumble and shake up \u2026. others will be a fall that will completely change your life.<\/p>\n

All struggles have something in common. The commonality in struggles is that with awareness and acceptance you can discover the lesson, a lesson or even many lessons. It is those lessons and what we decide to do with them that creates the stepping stones to get farther on the path in our journey.<\/p>\n

Sharing your story with others in the perspective of sharing will sometimes be helpful in finding the lesson. Looking for sympathy or \u00a0empathy in sharing your struggle story will not be as effective.<\/p>\n

For example\u2026.<\/p>\n

When I share my story of how my car accident literally changed my life as I knew it\u2026. It stole my active lifestyle that I had with my young children. It ripped me away from a critical care nursing career that I absolutely loved as well. The car accident put my home renovations on hold that I was so proudly doing myself. When I share that story, it almost always still brings tears to my eyes, yet I will always have a smile on my face.<\/p>\n

The smile on my face is on purpose!<\/p>\n

Of course, I like smiling ~it feels good and makes others feel good. The other reason is, I actually do not want sympathy or even the kind of empathy that will often be shown. I simply tell my story so that others will learn from it. Sometimes I will tell a small portion of it so someone knows why I am unable to do something or go somewhere. I will also tell my story with pride. I am proud of myself, and filled with gratitude for my strength.<\/p>\n

If I can pick myself up and accept constant, chronic at times debilitating pain \u2026 I want to inspire many others to do the same or better.<\/p>\n

If I can build my online business on my laptop mostly from bed \u2026. I want to inspire many others to do the same or better.<\/p>\n

If I can raise my kids (now teens) as a single parent who rarely leaves the house and is often in bed \u2026. I want to inspire many others to do the same.<\/p>\n

I homeschool my son, know almost all of their friends and am the mom even their friends come to for sharing their struggles. I share the lessons I learned with them. Helping them find their lessons in their struggles helps them get back up again. It gives them confidence to face the next one on their own or the tools to try harder.<\/p>\n

It is also important to feel the pain in the struggle. Really feeling that pain for a short while will accomplish 3 very important things.<\/p>\n
