First off<\/strong>, I want to give you a little background of what marriage<\/strong> really is. \u00a0The action of marrying someone<\/strong> can be two separate interactions done all at once. \u00a0The first is the ratification by the government<\/strong> that these individuals now want to be treated as one family unit. The second could be a religious or spiritual statement in front of family and friends<\/strong> that these individuals are going to be one family unit. The government gives authority to those who perform religious ceremonies<\/strong>, to also perform a legal government marriage in tandem. The knowledge of knowing there are two separate types of marriage will, hopefully, assist you in not only understanding why people who want \u2018Gay Marriage\u2019 to be \u2018legal\u2019 are completely wrong<\/strong> and destroying the progress<\/strong> we have made in this country.<\/p>\n

Maybe you remember the Jim Crow laws<\/strong> of the mid 1900s, or maybe you have read about them in history books, or you have heard your family or friends talk about it. Jim Crow was a series of rigid \u2018anti-black\u2019 laws<\/strong>. It was a way of life for many who lived in the United States, especially around the South. Under Jim Crow, African Americans were considered and treated as members of a second class<\/strong>. \u00a0These laws divided the United States and were, thankfully, considered unlawful. \u00a0The ramifications<\/strong> from this period of time still rattle US citizens to this day.<\/p>\n

Why would people of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (Alternative)<\/strong> groups want to start a \u2018seperate but equal\u2019<\/strong> set of laws to start being created just for them? Why should we as Americans want anything less than the best<\/strong> for every other American? \u00a0It is astonishing to me that the LGBT<\/strong> (LGBTA<\/strong>) would want to undergo these same struggles.<\/p>\n

As we wait for the ruling from the Supreme Court<\/strong> on this matter, as we sit here and contemplate what is marriage<\/strong> and how loving people who get married could possible harm another group<\/strong> of loving people who get married, as we consider whether love is universal or only accessible to a small few<\/strong>, as we consider\u2026 remember this\u2026 \u00a0If we make \u2018Gay Marriage<\/strong>\u2018 legal, we create a second class citizenship for any person who wishes to use that marriage. \u00a0It will be a second class marriage<\/strong> and private companies and institutions (banks, insurance companies, etc) will be able to start considering what \u2018type\u2019 of marriage you have, when making their different types of judgments on you and your life.<\/p>\n

As a country<\/strong>, as people who believe in the rights and freedom<\/strong>s of all other people. As a country that was built by people trying to find salvation from oppression<\/strong>. We must not allow this \u2018new thing<\/strong>\u2018 called \u2018Gay Marriage<\/strong>\u2018. \u00a0WE MUST<\/strong> allow all people complete access to the same kind of marriage that \u2018straight\u2019 people have access to.<\/p>\n

Religious groups, spiritual groups, they can regulate for their own marriage, but as far as government is concerned, equal access to all!<\/strong><\/p>\n
