Typically the waist size gets larger as you get older and for a long time I thought it was just how it went—you get older and you get fatter, but recent research and books have proven that it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you are wondering where your blood sugar falls on a chart you can check it out here.

A recent popular diet is the Paleo diet and it has done remarkable things for many people. Its premise is that we need to only those foods that were available to our evolutionary ancestors and thus that cuts out most of the modern western diet. I think its success is mainly due to the fact that reducing your diet to whole foods, complex carbohydrates, limited grains and only natural sugars eliminates most of the crap out of a person’s diet. Eating no processed foods, no added sugar, good healthy fats and drinking mostly water will make anyone feel better.

Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health, a book by William Davis, MD, has a further hypothesis for why so many people have such a hard time losing weight. He says that the wheat grown today is nothing like the wheat grown in earlier centuries and is in fact the cause of many health problems. Dr. Davis says,” Wheat-consuming people are fatter than those who don’t eat wheat. Why? Among the changes introduced into this plant is a re-engineered form of the gliadin protein unique to wheat.” Interesting stuff and since I have struggled to keep an extra 20 lbs off my waist I wanted to put those ideas into practice.

I stopped eating wheat as much as possible, increased good fats like coconut oil and real eggs from range free chickens and amazing things have happened. My weight has stabilized and best of all the all-the–time-hunger-pangs are gone. It took a long time, but sugar cravings aren’t really a problem anymore. Also I don’t wake up hungry like I used to all the time. I still eat breakfast, but am not ravenous and breakfast is normally 2-3 eggs fried in coconut oil, with some vegetables also thrown in. That diet is higher in saturated fat than is considered prudent by most medical people, but my blood test readings have all improved for the better. Fasting glucose went from 102 to 94, triglycerides fell 47 points, and LDL cholesterol stayed the same, while HDL cholesterol went up 10 points. Pretty good results and all while not depriving me of calories and feeling full after meals. It’s a lifestyle change for the better and one I think I can make permanent.

So what normal blood sugar levels mean for me is cutting out the wheat, adding saturated fat and feeling better all of the time. Cutting out the wheat reduces the amount of simple carbs eaten everyday and also the amount of glucose that insulin has to deal with after each meal. Less glucose eaten means less to get stored as fat and less to circulate in my blood stream.

For more information go to anormalbloodsugarrange.com

Normal blood sugar levels aren’t typically a topic of conversation for most people, only those that are at risk for diabetes or some other metabolic disorder. But the reality is that blood sugar levels and insulin levels have a lot to do with how a person feels and as a person ages the chance that […]

[2
3,4,5,6,7
post-4","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-empower-network","tag-blood-glucose-levels-chart","tag-blood-sugar-levels","tag-blood-sugar-range","tag-normal-blood-sugar-levels","tag-normal-blood-sugar-range
["GET
