If you had a chance to read my previous blog post<\/a>, you might have said to yourself, \u201coh there she goes ranting about the gurus again\u201d, LOL. Although I wrote what was on my mind at the time, I got back to thinking about what I read in Magnetic Sponsoring<\/em> in regards to Alpha Networkers vs. Beta Networkers.<\/p>\n

No matter how frustrated we may get, \u201cranting\u201d is never an attractive position to take if one considers themselves to be a leader \u2013 it is purely \u201cbeta\u201d behavior. Why am I resorting back to my ol\u2019 \u201cbeta ways\u201d when I made so much progress so far?<\/p>\n

For the record, Betas are essentially \u201cunsure\u201d of themselves, or they are not quite comfortable with the idea of being a leader. They also live in a constant state of \u201creaction\u201d \u2014 Everything is usually someone else\u2019s fault, and the Beta allows life events and other people to dictate their rules and reality.<\/p>\n

As much as I dreaded being on video, I not only did video interviews with top marketing leaders this past weekend, but I blasted those videos all over my Facebook wall and YouTube. I even allowed myself to be \u201ctagged\u201d in pictures where I thought I looked absolutely unattractive. This is a step in the right direction, or so I thought.<\/p>\n

According to Mike Dillard, the author of Magnetic Sponsoring, this is exactly the way I should be feeling. \u201cChallenging your current views about yourself and acting like a different person is a scary, yet wonderfully rewarding activity.\u201d Dillard writes.<\/p>\n

Personal development<\/a> is all about taking the initiative to move from one group to another, in this case moving from a \u201cBeta Networker\u201d to an \u201cAlpha Networker\u201d. It is also stated in Magnetic Sponsoring that \u201cBelief always comes before results.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBelief leads to certain actions and behaviors. Those actions and behaviors are going to be awkward in the beginning, but given dedication, time, and affirmation, those actions and behaviors will turn you into the type of person you need to be in order to generate the results you seek.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So, I guess that I am starting to enter the \u201cPre-Alpha\u201d stage . . .<\/p>\n

\u201cAn example of a \u2018Pre-Alpha\u2019 would be someone who\u2019s recently started to push their comfort zone when it comes to expressing leadership<\/a>. This is where the struggle is found before the big reward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being an Alpha is what every network marketer should aspire to be. Alphas are naturally attractive because they exude confidence and are not concerned with \u201cdisappointing\u201d others. Yes, most gurus are Alphas, LOL, and that is a good thing.<\/p>\n

Mike Dillard clearly states that becoming an Alpha does not happen overnight. In fact, it took him 6 years to move from a Beta, through \u201cPre-Alpha\u201d and then onto morphing himself into an Alpha. Once a leader obtains the vision, courage, and willingness to lead themselves through adversity and challenges, that is when they move from Beta to Pre-Alpha.<\/p>\n
