So what’s it take to get off the ground? \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Work. \u00a0Commitment. \u00a0Enthusiam. \u00a0Sacrifices. Decision. \u00a0Marketing. \u00a0Staying the course. \u00a0Overcoming. \u00a0Celebrating along the way.<\/p>\n My family comes from a long line of entrepreneurs. \u00a0We understand that freedom is in being your own boss. \u00a0Employees build empires for entrepreneurs. \u00a0Which do you want to be?<\/p>\n One of my sons, Andrew, and his wife Amanda Blake, a few months ago, made a decision<\/strong> to start a juice business. \u00a0They had no funds for it, but rather a big dream. \u00a0And where there’s a dream, there’s a way.<\/p>\n They went though a company called Kickstart to fund their dream. \u00a0<\/p>\n This last weekend I went down to Alabama to the family and the work and dedication and planning are in full effect.<\/p>\n They have been working out of a commercial kitchen between 11 pm and 6 am. and working full time during the day… Doing whatever it takes to bring their dream lifestyle and passions to the front.<\/p>\n They have been going to stores and community events, the farmers markets, salons, doing public demos in parks, at athletic events, everywhere they can get in…to spread the word about their new business and the benefits of good health for their community. \u00a0They are selling out everywhere they go.<\/p>\n They did a location study and found a high foot traffic area in a great town nearby to make sure they can been seen and is convenient. \u00a0Across the street are cakeshops, famous BBQ, outdoor cafes, boutique stores and right next door is a successful bike shop where many health conscious cyclists come and go all day…<\/p>\n Here’s their picture in front of their new shop. \u00a0It used to be a screen printing shop… now it’s going to be Sprout n Pour. \u00a0They have lots to do to get it open and ready by July 1!\u00a0<\/p>\n Walking the inside of the store to discuss build out. \u00a0Did you know when you sign a lease for commercial space, YOU do the build out for whatever you want? Floors, walls, ceilings, kitchen space, etc? \u00a0That’s not included. \u00a0You get what already there and YOU bear the cost of any change ups. \u00a0This is an open space with no kitchen or prep area and no flooring etc. \u00a0<\/p>\n \nCreating the kitchen and prep space, office and seating space, bathroom space. \u00a0 Walls to kitchen will be windows so people can watch the cold press process as juices are being made. \u00a0This will be awesome for schools and groups to tour and the community to learn. \u00a0<\/p>\n The kids gave me a demo on how cold press juicing works and why it’s the best for you. \u00a0<\/p>\n This is one of the machines they use and brought home for the weekend to show me.<\/p>\n They ONLY use the best and freshest and organic veggies from local Birmingham farms.<\/p>\n Cold-press juicing is a way to extract every good nutrient from the veggie and fruit and is very time consuming.<\/p>\n Ready to press<\/p>\n Cupful by cupful, they scoop one at a time into special juicing clothes<\/p>\n These pulp\/juice clothes are then folded and placed into their cold press juicing machine.<\/p>\n As the pressor squeezes the wraps, the juice with all it’s micro-nutrients comes pouring out. \u00a0<\/p>\n What’s left is the pulp, almost dry. \u00a0Feels like a piece of felt. This is disposed of or can be used in recipes.<\/p>\n It’s bottled. \u00a0This is just a home demo for me. \u00a0But at their commercial kitchen, they are bottled and labeled and put on ice.<\/p>\n They have a blend they have called “spring” and it’s their best seller. \u00a0That’s the recipe they made me for the demo.<\/p>\n A toast! \u00a0To their success!
