Learning how to<\/span> give<\/span>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m just learning what it means to give.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been beating myself up for a long time because I didn\u2019t have any extra money to do the things I wanted to do, (like take my kids on vacation, pay my bills on time, buy my wife flowers\u2026) let alone to give to a worthy cause.\u00a0 Then I spent 8 days walking and listening to a powerful series on learning how to<\/span> give<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 If you want to invest eight hours in one of the most powerful series on giving go !!!!\u00a0 The day AFTER I completed listening to that series I got an email from Dave Wood about what it takes to \u201cbe happy\u201d.\u00a0 Talk about mysterious ways\u2026it was about giving.\u00a0 Now I\u2019m going to twist your thinking about how you are ALREADY giving in ways you never thought about.<\/p>\n

What can YOU\/I give???<\/strong><\/p>\n

If\u00a0 all your money comes in on one day and three days later you are wondering where it all went and you are wondering how the hell you are meant \u201cto give<\/em>\u201d then take one minute and evaluate what you have done.\u00a0 You gave your mortgage company a chunk and you get to stay in your house.\u00a0 You gave your power company a bit and you have a computer running where you can read this post.\u00a0 You paid a car note that lets you continue to drive that car around town.\u00a0 YOU are giving. Those are all the things you are doing for yourself.\u00a0 Giving to ALL those companies supports all the people and families that work for those companies.\u00a0 The next time you get upset about paying your bills\u2026consider all the good you are doing in many peoples lives by supporting their family.\u00a0 Do you want to give to the poor??\u00a0 Do you want to give to less fortunate people.\u00a0 You already did if you are a paycheck earning person.\u00a0 Whether you like or agree with your government they took taxes out of your check.\u00a0 When you GAVE your taxes to the government, they used those and took care of some less fortunate people.\u00a0 Whether you agree with how that money was spent or not,\u00a0 it was earned by YOU and given to them. Let\u2019s not evaluate the EFFECTIVE use of tax dollars and stay with the concept.\u00a0 You GAVE to the others through your tax dollars.\u00a0 Stop and be grateful for a moment if you are gainfully employed either for yourself or working for someone else.\u00a0 You ARE ABLE to give to others through your tax dollars.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t like what \u201cthey\u201d do with it.\u00a0 Choose someone aligned with your thinking the next time you vote.<\/p>\n

Time and talent is more important than money<\/strong><\/p>\n

Several years ago, I took a business from start up to the very top of the company.\u00a0 I invested many hours of time and energy into that business.\u00a0 What I didn\u2019t realize was I had compromised the most important thing in the world, my family.\u00a0 I made a ton of money.\u00a0 We had fabulous \u201cstuff\u201d.\u00a0 What my family didn\u2019t have was MY TIME.\u00a0 I made a decision to work LESS and spend more time with my family.\u00a0 My kids didn\u2019t want the \u201cstuff\u201d they wanted their dad.\u00a0 I was able to give<\/strong> in ways I never thought was important.\u00a0 I started going to events at school, soccer games, dance recitals.\u00a0 Win or lose, it didn\u2019t matter if I was there.\u00a0 Giving can be done with more than money.\u00a0 If you want to give<\/span> something that REALLY matters, give your time to someone else.\u00a0 Give them your talent, wisdom, and experience. Give honestly from your heart and give abundantly.\u00a0 I heard a fabulous formula for learning WHAT to give.\u00a0 Take your talents, add your passions and find out the needs of your local church.\u00a0 Line those three up and you will know what to give. Do what you are great at and you will never work a day in your life.\u00a0 Some rich guy said that.\u00a0 Why? Cause he lined his talents up with his passions and loved every minute of every day.\u00a0 Gave a bunch away and lived a very happy life.<\/p>\n
