Eternal Eye Site<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As we pursue our daily efforts to put and run a profitable online business sometime our Eye site<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on the moment. We are weighed down by every aspect of life that is holding us back. The list is endless time, money, lack of support from family and friends, distractions from outside your are of control, etc, etc.<\/p>\n

Sure we need to focus on accomplishing our daily task to succeed but many times those items that keep running us off track will also cloud out eye site<\/span>\u00a0of the final goal.<\/p>\n

As I was doing my morning Bible study I found this situation discussed in the Our Daily Bread offering for today. In 2 Corinthians\u00a0Paul discusses the same topic of keeping our eye site on the final goal.<\/p>\n

We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. \u2014<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 4:18<\/p>\n

I received good news at my eye checkup last month\u2014my faraway vision has improved. Well, I thought it was good news until a friend informed me: \u201cFaraway vision can improve as we age; close-up vision may diminish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report made me think of another kind of improved faraway vision that I have observed in some Christians. Those who have known the Lord for a long time or who have gone through great trials seem to have a better heavenly vision than the rest of us. Their eternal eyesight has gotten better and their close-up \u201cearthly\u201d vision is diminishing.<\/p>\n

Because the apostle Paul had that type of eternal vision, he encouraged the church in Corinth: \u201cOur light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory\u00a0.\u00a0.\u00a0.\u00a0. The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal\u201d (2 Cor. 4:17-18).<\/p>\n

For now we struggle with our \u201ceyesight.\u201d There\u2019s a tension between enjoying all that God has given us in this life, yet still believing what theologian Jonathan Edwards said about our future: \u201cTo go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here.\u201d Seeing Him will bring perfect vision.<\/p>\n

Lord, we know that our life on this earth is but
\na moment compared to eternity. Help us to enjoy
\nthe time we\u2019ve been given, and use us to tell of Your
\nlove and goodness until that day when we see You.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 4:16 \u2013 5:8 (NIV)<\/p>\n

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardlyo we are being renewedp day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.<\/p>\n

1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.<\/p>\n
